Feels like Srping in near.

Posted on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 11:58 AM

Good afternoon.  Right now the kids are resting, while they rest they are listening to our The World of Peter Rabit and Firends song collection that came with a movie we purchased at a yard sale about two years ago.  I enjoy the music from it as well. *smile*

Today I have gotten both bathrooms clean (toilet and sink *smile*), bathed both children, given our son a hair cut, and enjoyed a little work on my embroidery.  I also joined a group of people that are attempting to read the bible in a year.  For the first time I added my name and blog address to a list of others on someone elses page.  I have done this when I comment before, but not in the big bunches of blog listings.  If you click on the new link at the bottom on the right side you will see my blog listed there with so many others.  It is nice to know that we are banning together for such an admerable thing. *smile*

It feels like late fall or earily spring here today so I opend up the windows for a bit today.  I got to turn off the heater and we get some fresh air in the home.  I keep thinking I should get a load of towels in the wash and on the line before the breeze goes away, not to mention the sun going down. *smile*  It is a bit chilly, but it sure does feel GOOD! *smile*

I have also learned how to put a little entry decoration on my friends page.  So if you click on the link up at the top of my page that says "Friends" then their latest entries show up on my page for your convience.  Then you get to see the other blogs I read and you are still on my page.  Well, I got the little lady bug thing to show up there.  I found it in the coding.  I am so excyted for the new thing I learned today. *smile*  Also, if you click on the little bear that says, "no right click, script installed" you can get the coding for your own blog.  This just makes it so when you put things on your page it is a bit harder for someone to take them and claim them as their own. *smile*  Not that it can't be done, multiple windows, you know, but it is a bit harder. *smile*  I got the idea from someone else here at homestead blogger and liked the idea of locking my doors, so to speak. *smile*

Well, I suppose I should go and eat some lunch.  Who knows, maybe get a load on the line yet. *smile*  I may save that for another day though.  As this one is half over and the sun won't be out long enough to dry the cloths. *smile*  Take care and enjoy the blessings of today. *smile*

Five more chapters....and bread

Posted on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 7:02 AM

Good mornging.  I read five more chapters in Genesis this morning.  It was about when Sarai and Abrams' names got changed and the birth of Ishmiael and the destruction of Sodom and Gamora.  I like this part as there is a lot about family relations and trusting in God to know what is best.  When we get our hands in the pie we tend to make a mess of the beauty that God has in mind to create.

Last night, I made some of my wheat bread and kneeded it a bunch more.  It turned out so pretty.  Now all I need to do is work on my timing.  It was done by about nine forty-five last night so the house smelt good when we went to bed (a little late) and I was able to send a loaf of it and some of my home made apple butter (the one I did in the crock pot with the recipie from the Country magazine) for a couple whom we have a growing relationship with.  The wife has been having some tests done and hasn't been feeling well.  I did it a bit late, but I was hoping to send them some good cheer with the little home made treat.  I am sure it will be welcome at any time though. *smile*

I suppose I ought to close for now as I need to get things going around here.  We are excyted to be able to work outside this weekend.  I hope to move around some old tires that have been in the yard since we bought the place to plant tomatos in this year and I hope to clean up the patio for the kids to play in a clean area outside. *smile*  I may even get to the patio today while they rest in the middle of the day.  We shall see. *smile*  The bathrooms haven't been cleaned yet this week and it is a good thing to keep up on. *smile*  Then they never get VERY dirty just a bit. *smile*  I also have some mending that needs to be done.  I have been working on my embroidery lately so not much on the sewing machine.  Maybe once I get this last block done I will get back to the machine to finish up a denem dress for our daughter and make some more pajamas for our son.  Again, we shall see. *smile*  When little ones are a foot you kind of have a hope list rather than a to-do list. *smile*

God IS faithful!

Posted on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 7:58 PM

Good evening.  The Lord was definately faithful in a very visual way for me today.  The started out pretty loud at our home.  I am trying to be a quite sprited and voiced lady all the time in my life.  Unfortunately for God I, me, mommy of two little blessings, get in the way of His progress.  But He took us on a LONG walk this morning as we have been getting some warmer than normal weather today.  I loaded our two little ones in the double stroller and we headed out.  We took our walk and had just gotten home when I noticed our daughter had lost her shoe somewhere along the walk so out we went to find it.  They are a new pair and no matter the cost (25 cents or $50) I wanted to have the pair.  She enjoys putting them on by herself.  But three quarters of the way back tracking our walk none of us had seen it.  So we turned around and headed home.  By the time we reached home, for the second time, I was in a very good mood and the Lord had completely changed my countanince. *smile*  So, all day we were training.  To obey the first time.  When Mommy calls you come, don't yell, talk kind to one another (not screaming to get what we want), lay quiet at rest time (in the middle of the day), and those sorts of things.  It was a day, but both kids wanted Mommy when the day was done and they both really enjoyed story time tonight.  We read about Jonah and how the Lord was training him to mind God no matter what he wanted to do instead. *smile*  This is our first time through our son's bible this year.  We generally get through it two times in a year.  It is fun to read through it like it's a story book one story at a time. *smile*

Right now I have clean sheets on the bed and bread rising.  I will get to bed a little late tonight, but hope to get a good nights sleep. *smile*  I didn't get much done as far as chores goes today.  It had been a while since the dog kennel had been scooped with all the snow so I did that today.  And since I hadn't gotten to the cat's litter box since last Monday (litter box day for our one cat *smile*) I figured she was way passed due for a clean toilet.  Poor thing.  Any ways, I have a load of jeans in the dryer that needs to be taken care of and pillow cases that need to be put on still, but other than that, not much to do to close up shop for the night. *smile*  The dishes will be there in the morning and I am okay with that for now.  I really prefer to have everything spotless before going to bed, but it has been a long day and I am ready to relax and let my mind rest. *smile*  I got my Jo-Ann's add in the mail today and am excyted to see what they have on sale.  I don't plan to take a trip there just yet as we are expecting half a cow within the next month or two which means we need to aquire another freezer that can actually hold all of the meat.  It is a good deal on the price, but the chunck is all at once so sounds like a lot of money.  It will be odd not having to buy meat this next year though. *smile*  We are talking about getting some pigs for the people at work to split next year.  Or is that, in the fall?  We have never had farm animals before so it will be an interesting thing if we do. *smile*

This afternoon our son wanted to play with Lincolin Logs so I built his Lincolin a little house and then while he played with that I proceeded to build another cabin for him.  Not two seconds after he had taken residency of the first place it was a pile of logs again.  I told him that since he didn't build it he should not have knocked it down.  He and his sister like to do that.  Wait for someone to build something and then they knock it down or tear it apart.  It gets really frusterating to play with blocks with them. *smile*  So, once I got the cabin done he asked if he could play with it and I told him no.  It may sound mean, but he doesn't just do this to Daddy and Mommy, I have seen him do this tear down thing to others as well and words don't come well to others either. *smile*  So I am teaching them that if they want to share with me and help me build something then they can help in the demolition otherwise, please try not to knock things down if they didn't build them.  It is a tough thing for little ones, but what better time to teach then when the action first starts, right? *smile*  They are improving, but it is still in the learning process. *smile*

I had better close this for now.  I hope you all are enjoying the winter weather you are being blessed with right now.  Take care and know that God loves you.  Remember to pray always. Winter blessings.-Me-(Mommy of two little blessings)

Five more chapters in Genesis *smile*

Posted on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 7:12 AM

If you are reading Genesis or have read it rescently then you may have also been reminded of the amazing power or our Lord.  He blessed Sari by watching over her and sending plegues to the Pharo when he took her in thinking that she and Abram were brother and sister.  Somehow I seemd to see Abram's side of things this time.  Before I used to see if from Sari's point of view and got quite disgusted in Abram's descision to lie in such a way.  Today it seemed as though he was trying to look out for his wife...if the Pharoh would have killed him she would have had to travel back to either her fathers house or her husbands' family to remary as she had no children from Abram yet.  And this is during a famon year.  The bible says that it was a really bad fammon too.  So, really he was honestly trying to look our for her and the Lord knew that so added some added protection.  Thank the Lord for His provision. *smile*  I still think it was a stupid idea and that Sari was an amazingly submissive wife.  I strive to be as submissive as she was her her husband.  I have also been blessed with a wonderful God fearing Lord honoring husband. *smile*  Talk abaout an example for women in the bible...she is one amazing lady. *smile*  There is no record of her bawking at her husbands idea or telling him that she will walk around, thank you, or anything.  There is no mention of divorce after such a decision rather they leave the city together.  I bet she talked his ear off all the way back to where he innitally built the alter to God between the two mountains. *smile*  I bet he did a lot of thanking the Lord once he was there too.  More than is recorded that is. *smile*  Only God and he know though. *smile/wink*  Other than that it also was interesting how the Lord gave Abram the curage to fight SEVERAL kigs and their armys to retrieve Lot and his family from their hand once they were taken captive.  Really, I think God is not against war, rather He knows that we are an evil people and will take matters into our own hands.  In doing so we often turn to war, thereby killing oneanother.  Several times we hear of occurances where the Lord gave armys into the hands of His people and then, when they are not fallowing His commands, how other armies have taken them into their hands.  This means people die in battle and the Lord has the power to descide who is the victor.  Pretty amazing.

I hope you have a wonderful day and that Sari's example of submission stands out to you and that you are also convicted about how you show your submission to your husband.  I must admit that it is not too hard (still a bit challanging when I think my way is better *smile*) to submit to a man who submits to the Lord. *smile*  I am richly blessed! *smile*  Grow in God and look for His many blessings all around you today.

About Me

I am a homemaker who always desires to please my Maker. My goals here are many so I will not list them all. I will; however, tell you that I hope to be an encouragement to those who read. Maybe even get you all thinking about what God's purpose is for you. Please feel free to leave a comment, but know that it is okay if we do not agree as long as we are focused on God in all that we type, do, and say we will have something in common. *smile*
