I have decided to leave my Patriotic music up in running and will do so until our Presidential Election. As morale for the American Public is slightly low, I wanted something to help us reflect on what our Founding Fathers based this country on so many years ago. My decision won't be based on words freely spoke, but on actions that deserve my vote. I will vote based on the Love of my country as well as it's people and for those who freely fight to keep me safe. While I don't enjoy war with anyone, including the innocent, I also want to be sure those who are fighting for my freedom and their families are kept safe. Thats where my vote and that of other Americans is most important. Please Join me in prayer for my country as we embark on hard decisions and fight for the freedoms and privledges set by our Founding Fathers and fought so bravely over the years by American Soldiers. I pray also for friends and family of other soldiers from other countries who also fight for the freedoms of their countries. In God may we ALL trust! Love to each and every one of you no matter what country your from. ~Rebekah

Happy Independence Day America!
America For Me
by Henry Van Dyke
'TIS fine to see the Old World and travel up and down
Among the famous palaces and cities of renown,
To admire the crumbly castles and the statues and kings
But now I think I've had enough of antiquated things.
So it's home again, and home again, America for me!
My heart is turning home again and there I long to be,
In the land of youth and freedom, beyond the ocean bars,
Where the air is full of sunlight and the flag is full of stars.
Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the air;
And Paris is a woman's town, with flowers in her hair;
And it's sweet to dream in Venice, and it's great to study Rome;
But when it comes to living there is no place like home.
I like the German fir-woods in green battalions drilled;
I like the gardens of Versailles with flashing fountains filled;
But, oh, to take your hand, my dear, and ramble for a day
In the friendly western woodland where Nature has her sway!
I know that Europe's wonderful, yet something seems to lack!
The Past is too much with her, and the people looking back.
But the glory of the Present is to make the Future free--
We love our land for what she is and what she is to be.
Oh, it's home again, and home again, America for me!
I want a ship that's westward bound to plough the rolling sea,
To the blessed Land of Room Enough, beyond the ocean bars,
Where the air is full of sunlight and the flag is full of stars.

*** Call for Prayer please ***
Friday, February 22, 2008
Hi Everyone! I'm sending out this post to pray for my brother in law Charles. Could you keep him in your prayers today please? He has a tough test today in Seminary and they are going over everything he learned from the past four years. He could use prayers for clarity, peace in His spirit, and Victory over nervousness.
He and my sister in law have our two nieces and three nephews and they are looking for a pastoring position in Childrens ministry that will fit them. Please pray that doors and windows of opportunity would open for them for his career as he graduates, that God would hand-pick the perfect job for them, and that offers would come knocking on their door.
I know They've all worked so very hard. Diane homeschools the kids, the kids have worked so hard at being patient with daddy's studies while sharing time with his school and charles and put forth SO much work in order to provide fully for his family in the future. He and my Sister in law Diane are truely an inspiration and a testimony to what God can provide if only we would trust in Him. I pray He would find the perfect job for them.
We ALL would love them back home in Central NY, but if there is place somewhere else within driving distance, I'm sure we'd all be gracious. But they would like a job with any church that will help them provide for their family while also ministering to the children they love and care for so much. Did I tell you that they have gone on several missionary trips both in the U.S. AND outside to work with orphans and other ministries? They truely have the hearts of servants. Even our young nieces and nephews have darling hearts of compassion. My cup runneth Over.
Thanks for all your prayers!
Rebekah

***Come Rest Awhile***
Monday, January 28, 2008

Come, Rest Awhile
Come, rest awhile, and let us idly stray
In glimmering valleys, cool and far away.
Come from the greedy mart, the troubled street,
And listen to the music, faint and sweet,
That echoes ever to a listening ear,
Unheard by those who will not pause to hear
The wayward chimes of memory's pensive bells,
Wind-blown o'er misty hills and curtained dells.
One step aside and dewy buds unclose
The sweetness of the violet and the rose;
Song and romance still linger in the green,
Emblossomed ways by you so seldom seen,
And near at hand, would you but see them, lie
All lovely things beloved in days gone by.
You have forgotten what it is to smile
In your too busy life, come, rest awhile.
