6 degree's with a -5 windchill
Friday, January 16, 2009
That's what the weather is here in Central NY. Brr is all I can say. I would imagine my brother in law and his wife are feeling a pretty big chill too. Minnesota is where they are and I've heard the weather there can get pretty bad.
Max (our Jack Russell) FINALLY went to the bathroom late this evening. We had such a time getting him to go. We dressed him in a sweater and both he and our pekingese had snow shoes on. They hate wearing extra clothes, but with the weather so cold, it's just too dangerous for them to be out for a good amount of time without being in warm clothing. I feel pretty bad for those animals that are stray without homes and pray that they would be safe from harms way.
Doug and I did our best to be sure we took care of any elderly neighbors we have in the area. It blesses my heart when we can help someone take in their groceries or bring them soup. It's not much by any means, but we seek to honor Christ in all we do. That means checking up on those who need it and helping where there is a need.
Doug's parents seem to be ok where that is concerned, though I do think we need to offer to shovel for them once in awhile. Though their an hour away, it's our duty to be sure they are safe. My parents are fine and also live an hour away. My poor dad works over an hour away in the snowbelt and has an hour trip back. Not to mention the deer territory. If you think of it, he could use some prayer. He's had to lay off several employee's just the other day and over the fall laid more off. His company had a new takeover and while he stayed, it wasn't on good terms. It's stressed him out pretty bad to lay off more employee's. He's very tender-hearted but rarely shows it on the outside.
Tonight we bundle up together and pray for the safety and welfare of all who are homeless and those without heat and main utilities. We must be grateful and count our blessings...but as a Body of Christ.....we must do all we can to bare each others burdens and help where there is a need. If we can do just a little it makes a big difference. Carrying groceries, making soup, starting a car, taking someone to a Dr.'s appointment, fixing someone's furnace without demanding payment, offering a hand in prayers or a listening ear, giving a warm place to stay for the night, inviting someone for dinner, even learning to be hosts and hostesses without warning.
I'm learning to be grateful for all He has blessed us with and enjoy the things I have. Material things mean nothing if we miss out on the most important gifts. One being the Salvation the Jesus offers, the rest is making due with what you have and loving not just the people who are easy to love, but those who are hardest to spite what our hearts tell us.
It's chilly here in Central NY, but the warmth from within our home I pray, will keep even the slightest of chills from those who enter. It is in Christ's name we pray for ALL who enter.
Much love to you all!

9 lbs Lost
Saturday, January 3, 2009
Yes, that's what my Dr. revealed the other day. I'm still STUNNED but am so grateful for seeing some results after a year of hard work.
I have hypothyroid and Type II diabetes. My body is fighting against itself and have found myself fighting to stay on track. This Christmas I made cookies and had only one...the rest I asked my husband and mother to try. Thankfully they helped.
As I start the New Year, I have plans to see a Dietician, my husband and I will join the YMCA and I also have plans to see a Chiropractor and start getting therapeutic massages. Many, covered by our Flex account.
I found myself with a setback today as I was placed on a new med and have found my joints to ache, lethargy as well as my right side hurting. I have no gallbladder so who knows what could be causing this, but I'm praying God will help me through it all.
I pray that God would help me to work towards good health with this vessel He created. In the meantime, I continue to Fight the good fight and seek Him daily.
May You find Good health and spirit in 2009.
Love in Christ,

Christmas Cookies 2008 - A Life-Lesson I'll NEVER Forget!
Wednesday, December 17, 2008

We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him. He appointed them to be saved in keeping with his purpose. ~Romans 8:28
My dear husband came in from walking the dogs last week with a message from one of our neighbors. He said, "they wanted to know if you were making cookies this year oh, and while I'm at it, the hospital staff were wondering the same thing".
I hadn't planned on it this year. My plan was to simplify, to relax, and to just NOT be tempted by the sweets. God had something else planned though.
My mother came on Sunday and spent most of the day helping me with different recipes, trying a couple of her own recipes, and putting up with slight complaints of her daughter and son-in-law, because she landed at our doorstep at early a.m. hours that seem like sin to a couple who's main provider workers long hours in the late evening-early morning hours.
Mom left that day and it seemed sad to let her go. I enjoyed the time spent with her as I used to during this season she'd prep for family gatherings by forcing me to make cookies with her.
My husband and I continued working together over the following two days to keep the cookies rolling, glazed, and baked. 3days later and several mental melt-downs, we found ourselves with loads and loads of trays and boxes full of 6 different cookies.
Today the small boxes went out to our neighbors. We had to set a limit as we would NEVER be able to feed them all. My husband delivered them with a kind heart and a loving spirit. That elderly couple who started the frenzy with the question this year confided in Doug that they don't bake and like last year, looked forward to our cookies this year. With a big smile, He delivered not only to an elderly couple, but an Indian couple who are hindu, an Asian woman who doesn't celebrate the birth of Christ and several others who were weary and lacking the spirit that so many have lost during a time when jobs are scarce and the future looks dim.
That time spent with mom for the day? It was cherished time that was well spent. She MUST have gotten up around 6am in order to drive here to our home just to bake cookies. If it weren't for that time, I don't think my eyes would have ever been opened to the blessing she really is. She too, gives of her heart. In little ways often gone un-noticed to those around her and sometimes without appreciation for the kind deeds she has done for many.
My eyes were open to how much I have taken for granted and how precious each day is with her, my dad and those around me....both extended family and my loving dear friends.
This year, we'll have delivered "Thank You Cookies" to the Fire Department, The Mail Carrier, The Police Department and several others whom will remain anonymous but shall forever remain in our hearts. For THEY are the ones who have blessed us, not the other way around.
While I'm not sharing EVERYTHING in detail or in abundance as they happened, I am content in knowing that my Heavenly Father knows what happens in "hiding" as my heart is filled with scripture that tells me to give in secret.
I didn't want to make cookies this year.....But God delivered the best Christmas gift this year and it came without receiving material posessions. Obeying Gods call to get outta the box and off our couch in order to bless others Not just for Christmas, but EVERYDAY fulfilled and fed our spiritual needs in which I am called according to HIS purpose.
Now who would have thought cookies could do all that?

Absent...
Wednesday, November 19, 2008
My apologies for not being on as much. I've been having a mix of medical issues lately and thus have had quite a bit of insomnia.
I'm hoping this and other issues change in the upcoming months, as I work toward a healthier lifestyle. In the meantime, I'll be visiting when I can, but am focusing on one day at a time until I get my energy back.
Blessings to you all!

Have You Honored A Veteran Today?
Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Freedom is not Free
by Ashley Persyn
There is a price we pay for freedom
For it is not truly free
But rather paid for by the contributions of veterans
To buy our liberty
As their blood drains from their body and runs like a river through the grass
Over the years it's forgotten, war is placed in our past
I don't think we all realize the importance veterans play
as they voluntarily serve America each and every day
We should honor the veterans for they act like a shield
Protecting us from danger, keeping America healed.
So if you would take a second to commemorate
You will instantly see
We owe veterans our gratitude
For they are the reason we are free
In honor of those who serve each day, those who served yesterday and those who've lost their lives: Would you please take a moment to pray for their hard work, their families they leave for months at a time, and ask God to take care of them all and bless them for serving to protect the freedoms we have today?

It's That Time Of Year Again...Cold And Flu Season
Wednesday, October 29, 2008
Yup, leaves are falling, the air is chilly and we had our downpour of wet snow yesterday. Today, we have light snow falling and as I look out at the crick over yonder, I find myself preparing for the Cold/Flu season.
I do not have a flu shot every year. Contrary to my dr., who says as a diabetic, that I need to have not just the flu shot, but also a pneumonia shot as well, after much research I've found that I am better off NOT taking them at this time. I don't do this out of spite. What many people don't understand, is that with each year of getting the flu/pneumonia shot, it lessons your bodies ability to fight off infection AND your body becomes immune to the shot when you REALLY need it as a senior citizen or someone with a REAL illness later on.
What I've learned after my research, after what has now been 7 years without the shots, is that I can build immunity naturally. How? You may be asking. I'm just about to share with you.
Here are my tips that have worked for me for the past 7 years and what has worked for my friends and family as well.
In the winter months, our home is filled to the brim with citrus fruit. I'm talking lemons, limes, oranges (blood oranges and clemintines are my favorites), grapefruit and at times, (though we watch the sugar content) orange juice. As you may know, citrus fruits contain vitamin C and healthy minerals in them. Enough to help fight those bad germies that follow in from kids in the home who touch everything as well as those days in the office where everyone breathes and leaves their germs on computer monitors and keyboards.
Next, we load up on teas. Herbal, "throat coat", Echinacea, Green teas, Teas for Immunity boost and of course, Chamomile for evenings before bed. Tea can be much more healthy than soda, juice and sometimes even coffee. It however, depends on how much sugar you put in as well as high fat milk. For the most part, I absolutely LOVE herbal teas. My favorites are lemon zingers, spearmint, and an organge spice blend. With most of the citrus blends, one cannot put creamer in them because they will curtle. So I just add a bit of lemon or lime along with some natural sugar substitute and it brews a lovely flavor. For regular black teas, I try to stick with English or Irish breakfast teas. To those, I add a small amount of cream with 1-2 lumps of sugar. A BEAUTIFUL taste. If I'm REALLY in for a treat, I have a bisquit and clotted cream. Only on special occassions though. As for White and Green teas, they are such a comfort for me. White contains more antioxidants than Green does. You can enjoy them with a hint of citrus OR with cream. Both are EXCELLENT when you feel a cold coming on BUT my advice is to start having at least one cup daily during the cold and flu season. Sometime in the future, I'll have to teach you the proper brewing method. I don't always use the pre-bags, in fact, I most always use loose tea, though I haven't become a snob.Haha Maybe my dear English and Irish friends will be willing to share the "proper brewing methods".
So I've shared with you Citrus is a staple in the home for the winter as is tea. What next? Berries! Berries you say? mmmhmm!
Berries can be pretty expensive in the winter months. Which is why it's wise to get them during picking season when they're cheap and throw them in the freezer for future use. I've done this with blueberries and raspberries this year. I didn't have the opportunity to go strawberry picking. Along with that, NOW is the time to load up on cranberries. Cranberries have SO MUCH health property in them. They have an abundance of antioxidants and can help women with urinary tract infections. If your sick, they are an AWESOME berry to start eating. With cranberries, I usually make up a Cranberry salad using chopped walnuts, chopped cranberries and chopped pineapple with a dash of natural sugar substitute. You'll find me eating this ALOT during the winter. So much, that my husband won't touch the stuff now.
Now that we're FINALLY off the food list, I'll get into the natural products I use each winter:
Echinacea and Goldenseal Tincture is one product I don't live without! It's an immunity booster and while it's said you should be using it each day during the winter to boost your immune system, I use it once I feel a cold coming on and during illness and not everyday. I take two droppers full in tea in the morning and two before bed each night I'm not feeling well.
***Please read a comment on this blog entry by Christine. She reiterates that using echinacea and goldenseal isn't good everyday because of immunity to the echinacea and the reasons goldenseal should never be used everyday. I love it when people comment with facts that can help my readers and I understand the herbs more. So please be sure to read up on the comment.
Zinc Lozenges are needed and I use them once I feel a cold coming on. Stick the lozenge on your tongue and let it desolve slowly. This is THE MOST POWERFUL treatment thus far. It beats the heck right outa that cold you feel coming on.
Vitamin C is also an immune system protector and fights the heck out of any cold you have. I use 1000mg in the morning and 1000in the evening before bed. That high amount is ONLY during the oncoming of a cold or while you are ill. Go back to your normal mg doseage once you feel better.
Between those three products, if you have a cold, you will start feeling better within days. Usual it's 2 or 3 with me, but I'm sure it depends upon the person.
Oscillococcinum is a treatment used when you feel the beginning of the flu coming on. I've used it and it's AWESOME! I had a friend who was VERY SICK while my husband was in college. I ran out to get this for her and after being REALLY sick for awhile, she popped back up the next day. It's amazing stuff!
Other products you may choose to have on hand are:
Hand Sanitizers
Cough drops
Alkaseltzer (puts me to sleep and kicks the heck out of my sinus congestion)
Soup stock for making soup. It's not a cure, but quite a help when you need comfort and something good during an illness.
Extra blankets
Vix for chest colds
Ear Candles for Ear Infections: ***NOTE*** If you or your child/ren have chronic ear infections, a chiropractor is what you need. Many people don't know that a quick trip to the chiropractor for an adjustment will take care of the chronic ear infections. Try it!
Well, I hope you enjoyed this post. I pray that NONE of you have to use it, but if you do, I pray that you would find yourselves in good health and spirit, well stocked up on necessities to keep you and your family in the best of health while trusting in the Ultimate Healer, our Heavenly Father.

*** 9/11 A BIGGER TRIBUTE ***
Thursday, September 11, 2008

Like the rest of the world, I can't understand the reason for such destruction in the world. It breaks my heart, and I'm sure God cries everytime someone takes the precious life of another. Like the rest of the world, I remember exactly where I was, what time it was, and how I reacted.
See, I'm a New Yorker. I live in Central NY. I live 5 hours away from where it all happened, and even longer to where things took place in PA and Washington D.C. But I was still impacted. I still dealt with the tears and fear and anger that everyone else did.
My job was as an Executive Secretary for a Governmental Agency which resided in Central NY. My boss was gone for the day and I was "taking care of business". On the phone with a friend from the city and planning for a meeting to take place with each board member to be flown in the week after. I enjoyed the time with him. Laughing and talking about our time with family the past weekend. That Tuesday on the phone, I would have never expected such a thing to happen. That is, until I heard screaming in the background and someone tell my friend and board member to leave the building immediately!
At the time, neither of us really understood the impact those words would have. I remember asking if everything was alright and if He needed me to do anything for him. STILL not comprehending what the heck was happening on the other end of the phone. I thought it was a fire, or something simple that needed less attention. Then as quickly as I asked those questions, the phoneline was dead.

I called once, nobody was picking up, I tried again and again and again and the line was now busy. I felt like something was wrong, but at the same time, with the phone being busy, I felt as though everyone was ok.
I called my boss. No sooner I left her a message, she ran in the office crying. There had been an awful attack. Something was wrong and all the information was jumbled. She had access to Washington and was on hold. She had me start calling other board members from other states to see if they had any idea or more information.
Soon, it was announced that a plane had hit the building......but the other one was directly hitting too. It's a terrorist attack! She screamed. She got down on her knees in tears and I leaned against her in tears for the man who I'd befriended and started praying. See, I had just recently accepted Christ into my life 6 months prior and I knew this was so much bigger than what I could handle. I knew only God could give me answers and wisdom to know what to do.
Judy closed the office and we both left home. I gathered with friends and the man I'd soon marry in 6 months time, and we went straight to church to pray. I lit candles in our walkway and placed each one down the side walk as I prayed lighting them. I kept battery operated candles in my window lit each night with hopes to find friends and family I had heard were lost in the buildings. I prayed for those families of ALL the loved ones who were left behind in deep sorrow without answers to "why". I asked God to give them strength and pick each one up and walk with them.
Several years later, I feel the same sadness. It hasn't passed, it's just a bit deeper in my heart. Each passing year I remember those who lost their lives. It's gone far beyond those who lost their lives on the planes that day, in the trade center buildings or on the street when the building started falling apart, or even in the Pentagon.

Lives have since been lost in war. Those who have fought for our freedom, the freedom of undemocratic countries, and even innocent bistanders in the way.
Government Officials are still fighting over the fact that we haven't had closure with Al Quida and we need to find those who planned the attacks.
Today, I grieve for all the losses, but I want much more for our country and for the world. People lost their lives, but their lives shouldn't be forgotten but celebrated for their bravery and for the people they were. Their legacies live on and so should our humankindness.
So to give honor to all those who've presently lost a loved one to this horrific attack, or to the "war on terror", let's make them proud! Lets remember them in the kindness we give to others. Lets volunteer with the gifts and services and lovingkindess we did when we all came together for a common purpose those few weeks this happend. Lets honor our loved ones and our country and show those around us that Americans CAN and DO come together for the good of our neighbor. Lets form community. The kind we had when our grandparents were alive and each neighbor new each other, would sit on the porch, play cards and help each other whenever there was a need.
Want to volunteer or donate to a cause? Find one in YOUR area. Donate your time to help build someone up. Give your hand to someone who could use it and show your support for 9/11 in rememberance, by the gift you give to others.
I certainely don't know the reasons for why this happened that day. But what came from it was the lovingkindness of others to help. I'm sure those who passed on felt pretty honored and would like it to continue.
Blessings!

*** Lopez Lomong, The BIGGER STORY ***
Friday, August 8, 2008

He's one of the lost boys of Sudan and was taken away from his parents as they were in a church service,by the Sudenese Liberation Army.
His story is compelling because as a young 6 year old boy, he RAN in fear away from the army into the arms of freedom. He was adopted by a family from the United States. A family who lives a town away from my husbands family in a small town called Tully. He is one of several children who were adopted by this couple.
He later found his biological family, who survived the deadly takeover and has kept in contact with them. He boasts that he has two sets of parents.
With that in mind, He has just gotten his greencard and has become an American Citizen and will be walking the American Flag in the opening ceremonies of the Olympics representing America.
Tully and the surrounding Syracuse public have been supporting his family, trying to get them all there to see him compete.
His life is one that screams out the love of God, of perseverance, and of triumph. One FAR ABOVE any gold medal he could win. His life teaches us that there is so much more important in the world.
Just wanted to share this awesome story of adoption with you. My cup runneth over!

*** Meet Bently Fluff ***
Thursday, July 31, 2008

He's a bit of a shy bloke, but he landed on our porch and refused to move. EVEN when we came out. He wanted to sit and talk. It was apparent that we had left the camera in the car, so my husband ran to grab it. When he came back Good ol' Bently Fluff was perching on the feeder.

We could literally pick him up by our hands, but not knowing how old he was and weather or not anything was wrong with him, we both chose NOT to. (I have saved several birds in my lifetime by being eaten or hurt. I have special bird gloves I use now whenever a baby falls from it's perch or one gets caught in someones basement, or just in case one needs to go back near his friends.
All in all, I'd say he's beautiful and just a glimpse of good sweet heaven. I can't wait to take up residence in my Fathers House one day.
For every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine. Psalm 50:10-11

*** Emergency Preparedness ***
Wednesday, July 30, 2008
Over the past several months, I've been hearing more and more about being prepared for emergencies. Power Outages, Freezing Cold Temps, those who are in Tornado areas, Hurricanes, and other disasters, not to mention being prepared for war times in an unknown world like today.
It used to be heard by those who were Mormons who offered their advice on how to be prepared for a year in case of disasters, or those like my great-uncle who were from war era's who built shelters with TONS of food and other emergency supplies.
While I know where I'm going if I do pass, I also would like to be prepared while I am here. So over a year ago I've started replenishing certain supplies, trying not to go overboard. I started out simply with toilet paper whenever it was on sale and moved to batteries, flashlights, candles, boxes of matches, cans of tuna, chicken, anchoves, then on to learning to can where I started making jam, jelly, and new this year, salsa, spaghetti sauce, pickles and the likes.
Being prepared to me, means my immediate family will be taken care of in case a disaster strikes. On the other hand, no disaster happens without people other than ourselves. My thought is that I'd like to have enough around to be able to slightly care for others who also need the help. Doug is a nurse and I am a nurses aid by trade, so caring for people other than ourselves is something that drives us to reach out with the love of Christ to others.
I'm not in a state of panic. I know when I mention my preparedness to family members, they think I'm absolutely nuts. Dad rolls his eyes thinking I worry to much as do many others. Honestly though. I'm not worrying about what could or would happen. As many wives and/or homemakers probably know, we want to prepare and care for our families. My instinct is to make sure we are cared for. In any given emergency from small to large, I'd like to be prepared with supplies NOW instead of panicing when the emergency takes place and having the inability to focus on my loved ones.
It's important to me that no matter what day it is, through joyful times and times of little, that I am able to focus on the needs of others, NOT on something we lack.
With that said, Glenn Beck mentioned a couple of months ago in his newsletter information about Emergency Preparedness. It brought a smile to my face, but also helped me focus even more on learning basic needs for emergency preparedness. Just today, I was visiting another blogger "Working My Way Home", and she mentioned a site that I got all excited about.
Shelf Reliance is an emergency preparedness food and emergency supply store that allows you to purchase grains, freeze dried fruits and veggies as well as special shelving storage units that can be place in a basement. I've been looking for sites like this and haven't found one until today when I was lurking a blog.
Check it out...
While your waiting, maybe you can do some research yourself on Emergency Preparedness so the next time the lights go out and it's below zero, you have food, blankets, batteries, and maybe a backup unit to help keep you sustained until the emergency is over. Don't wait until there's an emergency, be prepared. I think you'll appreciate your hard work if ever the occassion were to arise.
Blessings
Rebekah

*** Recycling Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs ***
Wednesday, July 30, 2008

Compact fluorescent light bulbs are a great way to help save energy. But if you’ve been keeping up with the news lately, you know that there’s been some worry about getting rid of them since they have small amounts of mercury in them.
Home Depot announced recently that they want your bulbs so they can trash them responsibly (dubbed their National CFL Bulb Recycling Initiative). That means you can turn them in to any Home Depot spot and they’ll take them off your hands for FREE.

Went to the show last night. We got the live feed from Texas in TWO HUGE theatres here in Central NY which were SOLD OUT.

An HOUR and a Half BEFORE the show was to start. There are more seats below. HUGE theatre and we had TWO that were sold out in minutes. I felt bad for the last minute walk ins who had to sit away from each other. Everyone got there over an hour early for good seats.

Mr. Thinker and I at the Show. PEACE! Before we break out the pitchforks and flame throwers to make "We The People" be heard to the dummies in office in Washington. Will someone PAlease tell them who they work for?!
Totally wish Glenn would run, but I think he just like's being a host of HIS show to shed light on Politics. Debunk the myths and lies and find a way to educate the public with what the Candidates will do to us If they are voted into office. PRETTY SCAREY I must say.
We can sit and talk "Change", but it won't do a bit of good if we sit and wait for it with no agenda.
We can fight for the people., but when we allow immigrants to enter ILLEGALLY, we're going against EVERYTHING our Founding Fathers based the Country on. It even says on the Statue of Liberty: "
The New Colossus
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Emma Lazarus, 1883
My goodness, I hope there's a third party candidate besides BARR who can REACH between party lines. I think it would really tell our Washington Leaders something if the new President beat the barriers of Republican and Democratic parties. Why isn't Glenn running Conservative?
In a nutshell Glenn Beck spoke about:
~ the right to bare arms ((Stop taking the rights of people to defend themselves))
~ stupidity of our governement/state officials making laws on TOP of laws that were already made (i.e. making it illegal for people to use ILLEGAL Ammo....umm, hello, it's ALREADY illegal...this was done in PA., TONS of odd stuff done in CA by CA officials too. I.E. 500.00 fine for anyone setting off nuclear bombs in that area...umm STUPID! Don't you think number 1, they'll be dead and number 2 it's ALREADY illegal ANYWHERE in the U.S.?!
~ the need for the Gov't to STOP bailing out banks that KNOWINGLY make bad deals and the people with minimum wage jobs who knowingly accept mortgages for 400 thousand dollar homes on a grocery store clerks income. (no offense, but if you can't afford it, you shouldn't buy it. Why should the rest of us who either have mortgages we CAN afford to pay or those of us in Rentals who are paying our debts, foot the bill for those kinds of dumb choices).
~ giving people the right to succeed or fail.....its the American way. Our Ancestors came and WORKED HARD for the American dream. They started from NOTHING. Just as doug and I learned from our mistakes and had to come out of them, so should every American (and most have) learn from their mistakes and come out on top with the strength and hope of our Lord.
~ Our ideals the country was founded by our Founding Fathers recognizes That God has given us everything, NOT by ourselves....and transmitting those ideas into a Government and a Country.
If HE were president He would do the following:
Economy- for every 19.00 America spends 20.00 thats 1.00 TOO MUCH. Think of how many BILLIONS we're in the red to overspending.
Glenn suggests a scale down of government with only essential services to keep the army funded, roads open, post offices running as well as the court systems. NO MORE SPENDING WHAT WE DON"T HAVE! For crying out loud these are basic financial principals and alot of Americans know that when there is no money in the checking account...there's NO MORE MONEY. Why can't the Gov't grasp that concept?!
Illegal immigrations....Put a fence up and LET EM COME IN through the Golden Gates as it says on the statue of liberty. The Right way!
Lets not forget that He says we need diversification when it comes to CLEAN Energy.
Do you know they're FINALLY drilling in Anwar?! FOR ICE To see what happens when Ice is hot....Umm, I think even a 5 year old knows it MELTS! They're doing this dumb study when we need OIL. Maybe it won't wreap for 5 years, but it will be available when they need it 5 years from now. He also says get EVERY means of Clean alternative energy: Nuclear, water, air, even HEMP if thats what they need.
One thing he said that made sense. Thomas Edison never asked for gov't funding when he invented the lightbulb. Ivy Leage Colleges shouldn't need MILLIONS of taxpayers jobs for their own studies when they make TONS already and the monies they get from taxpayers is used for luxery things for the heads.
God Bless America is what he said.
We need to FIGHT For our Country.....protect our soldiers who are in the center of harms way...PROTECT THEM and they're families.
We need to research each candidate and question they're agendas. We The PEOPLE need to DEMAND MORE. If it doesn't come from the two parties, then we DEMAND it from elsewhere. Vote em Out...Alll of Em.
And Glenn says, Be a part of it. Don't wait for Gov't to change AMERICA, Go out and do it! Make that Impact....thats What Americans Do.
*** That's it in a nutshell. I hope I didn't affend our beloved Canadians and Europeans. I believe we each have significant roles to play as members of society for each of our Country's. It's just ours right now is during an Extremely IMPORTANT decision that could possibly impact the world if a wrong candidate gets in. I for one would like to see God back where He belongs. Back where our Founding Fathers placed Him ((the Head)).

*** Make A Wish Walk ***
Monday, May 5, 2008

We Did It!! We walked with our local Sparkpeople.com Group for Make A Wish Foundation. What a Blessing to walk for charity while getting healthy!
Something new, I've been blessed through dougs insurance to be able to have a personal trainer with hopes to lose 100lbs. I'm off insulin but wish to be off completely of most meds. This is a part of our mind, body and spirit year. Doug and I have decided to work on our bodies to keep up with the children that will be placed with us. While we've put off the classes for a short time, we will start back up with classes once God leads us to. Having a child has never looked more close than it has today. THIS TIME we'll be more equipped to help the children emotionally, physically AND spiritually.
An update: We've found a home church, are seeking Christian Counsel to deal with the underlying issues behind the eating, both doug and I are working together to lose some needed weight and we are enjoying each day, especially now that spring is here. We have SO many fun weekend adventures planned.
We're also cheering our brothers and sister in laws for such great news over the past few months. Dougs older brother is graduating with his Masters in Childrens Ministry, Dougs younger brother Dan and his wife are expecting twins and God is just present in ALL our lives. What a blessing!
