Phew! What an eventful day this was! I found myself with an appointment with my opthomologist yet again and have found that my white blood cells within my eyes are pretty bad. Apparently it origionated from some kind of viral infection. So I am now on steroids (think I'll actually have muscles now?) and some prescription drops to overcome the infection.
Doug and I also visited a couple of furniture stores with hopes to buy a sectional couch. I'm hoping to make a deal. Dave Ramsey suggests taking cash out and allowing the retailers to see your willing to pay cash on the spot. Then letting them know you only have a certain amount. They will wheel and deal, and some may NOT bite, but there are more often than not, those who won't allow you to leave because YOU are their income for the day. Furniture stores are similar. Many of them depend on selling and make commission. It also helps that January and February are the slowest months in retail AFTER the day after Christmas bunch that use their gift cards.
So, I'm out for a deal. If I don't get it, I'll walk out of the store, try another one and if worse comes to worse, I'll get my kitchen table and china cabinet I've been waiting for. Either way, we'll make out on the deals.
Today I also started my first Quilting class. I had so much fun!! I thought I'd be the ONLY one not knowing much about sewing with a machine, but there were actually 3 of us and we enjoyed learning so much about sewing, quilting and more. Stay tuned to the "Front Porch" on January 24th as I share what I've learned to help you make a small piece yourself.
Well, I'm really tired. I think I'll sit down with a cuppa tea next to my husband and get cozy on this cold night where temperatures have FINALLY reached 11 degrees.
May you sleep soundly with much peace and wake up to a lovely new day.
Rebekah
