My Honey...my super Honey...

You know...sometimes, my Honey says or does things that just so bless my heart... :)

Last night, he was not feeling well. He had been feeling off all day...some sort of tummy bug. We've been really far too busy and not eating as we normally do...and not sleeping as we need to. Couple that with the wacky schedule he is now working and you have the makings for a bug....

Well, he felt pretty poorly when he got home from work. After we ate, he and Thomas went out to feed hay to the cows. I half expected him to come right back in and get ready for bed. But, he did not. He and Thomas worked on the new truck! He knew that Thomas really wanted to work on their truck. (Yep, it's THEIR truck...Toby loves that Thomas loves it as much as he does!). The thermostat needed to be replaced...and Toby was going to let Thomas do the deed.

What a wonderful Daddy...not feeling well, would have rather gone to bed to rest, could have easily completed the job on the truck in half the time...yet, he let Thomas do the work and showed him what to do. He took the time (as he always does) to teach Thomas many things about the truck. Thomas has such a mechanical gift, he gets that from his Daddy. Toby loves to work with Thomas like that. And I love to see them doing it!

He then came inside...after being out there about 4 hours....to talk to Natalie. Natalie is hoping to convince Daddy that getting her ears pierced for her 9th birthday is a good idea. I walked into our room to find Mary sitting on his shoulders and hearing this.... " I have a soft spot for my girls, so don't take advantage of it." He sure does. Actually, he has a soft spot for all of us. He'd do anything, give anything, be anything we need....or even want. If it's in his control, he'll do it or get it. He really went back and forth on this truck purchase cause he feels guilty driving something better than his wife and children do. He wanted something better for us...he'll gladly drive junk so that we can drive something cool or warm and comfortable. But, this was for him. He's waited so very long for a decent truck to drive. And I was so very pleased to see him drive off to work in it this morning.

You know...marriage is a wonderful thing. But, so many don't get it. They seem to think it's all about themselves. It's so not. It's not whether you are married or not. It's all about God and what He wants. When you are married, it's all about your husband and what he wants and needs. In a good, healthy relationship, both of the spouses feel the same way. They both want nothing but the best for their spouse. They both live to make the other one happy. They both find such joy and pleasure in their spouse. It's quite easy for me to be a submissive wife. My Honey is not rude, bossy or demanding. He is my perfect compliment. He takes great delight in making me happy...in all areas. He completely completes me.

I just can't put into words how I feel about my Honey. He's so much more than my "other half". I'd be lost without him and I pray that I don't face that situation for many, many, many, many years. The thought of him being gone...due to death....brings me to tears. Just the thought of his not being here...that's more than my heart can bear.

We have a marriage that is strong and true and lasting. I pray for the same for my children. But it won't happen cause I force my will upon them. It will happen the same as it did for me...because they wait and let God choose their mate. Not me, not Daddy, not anyone....God. There are those who subscribe to the Daddy chooses my mate mentality. Toby's reply to that one? No way! He's not God. He doesn't know what our girls need. God does. If it had been up to my folks, I would not be married to my beloved. And look at the incredible blessing I would have missed out on. Sure, we could make more money...but, you know, I wouldn't trade our life for all the money in the world. We have all we need, and most of what we want. We have each other...and that's really all that matters.

This post has been in my heart since last night....thanks for reading about my Honey....I just love him so!!

This post touched my heart. I feel that God chose my husband for me as well. There is no other feeling like it, is there? When I'm with him, I'm home. I understand your saying that the thought of losing him brings you to tears. I'm the same way. I wish no one ever had to die. I know it's temporary, but it's so hard to imagine being without those we love, even if it's only for a while.

I'm glad you have such a wonderful hubby. He sounds like such a blessing to you and your family.
