Life is finally calming down here....it's been a whirwind lately.
We've canceled Keepers/Contenders for this week. Two families unable to attend...two Moms who are invaluable to our meetings. Along with the busy-ness of late, I'm really okay with having another day at home. Natalie also came downstairs with a stuffy nose. Mary has been sneezing...so it's probably best to skip meeting together with others. There are two nasty bugs going around, and I'd sure like to avoid them altogether!
You know..a thought I had....I've heard that copying is a form of flattery...that you have such a great idea, method or whatever that someone else copies it for themselves. I don't know that I find it flatterious (my own word!)...I find it a bit annoying. Have an original idea of your own! Copying others' work.....it's just plain wrong. They took the time to be original....others should too!
We now have a truck!!! Toby is so thrilled with it!!! It does need a new thermostat....it doesn't get warm enough while running...but my handy dandy Honey can fix that with no problem. We bought him the parts yesterday. It also needs an alignment. That I need to make an appointment for him for tomorrow. There's a thousand little things he'd love to do to it to make it his own.. (see that original idea thing runs deep in us!)...but they can wait. He's just so happy to finally have a truck!!!
I'm still having facial pain...headaches...just a feeling of almost itchy, but not itchy. It's really hard to describe. It almost feels like a burn..when you have that burning sensation, but also swollen and puffy feeling. See...it's not easy to explain. It just feels off...and I'm to find a Dr to go see and make an appointment. I see the look of concern and worry on my Honey's face when he asks me if it hurts and I say yes.
Rebecca and I got haircuts yesterday. Ahh...love that new haircut feeling!!
Paid the property taxes yesterday...that along with the new truck, licensing it and insuring it...well...that tax return is just about gone. Glad we had it to pay for these things...wish we could still have these things AND the money in the bank...but just thankful that we have the money to pay for things when they are needed. God is so good to us!
On Tuesday, I showed a friend of mine how to make mozzarella cheese. Gotta say, I sure miss doing that. I can't say that I miss having a milk cow, but I surely miss having the abundance of milk.
Honey's new schedule is taking some getting used to...problem is, when we get used to this week, it will change next week! He'll be working Saturday...which is highly unusual. Most of our married life, he's been off on weekends. This week, he'll only be off on Sunday, then go to the 4am-1pm M-F week. At the end, we are rewarded with a three day weekend again...can't wait for that already!!!
I have a big pot of turkey vegetable soup on the stove. It sure smells good. Natalie is going to make her first loaf of banana bread to go along with it. We had bananas ripening on the counter to use for our Keepers' meeting tomorrow..since that's not happening, we need to use those bananas up. The other item they were to make was chocolate chip cookies. That's an easy enough recipe...I am confident in Natalie's ability to make those!
I also made a yellow cake yesterday. Made my own chocolate frosting today...it sure tastes yummy!
Honey didn't get home till 10:30 last night from work. Late nights do not agree with us too well. His tummy was a bit upset this morning. Praying it was just the off-ness of our schedule. We haven't been eating as normal lately...and that has surely upset his tummy. I have no clue how others do it...we eat most of our meals at home, made from scratch. Having to eat things that were not made as usual is rather odd for us. Guess we're spoiled...just love home cooking!
It's cold here...we were supposed to get freezing rain overnight.....the crews were out yesterday salting the roads. Except no rain came...it's now supposed to rain this afternoon and tomorrow. When Thomas finishes his school work, I think we'll head out and take hay to the cows so Honey doesn't have to do it when he gets home...
Guess I'll close for now...time to get another load of laundry folded....
