Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We love to celebrate around here...most anything or any day is cause for celebration. But, when there's a holiday or special day, look out!

I know some don't celebrate this day. They say it's a Hallmark created holiday. And it probably is. I don't really care! It's a day to show my family how much I love them. It's a day for all of us to tell each other of our love...yes, we do this every day..but what's wrong with a day set aside for love????

I think we get all caught up in being legalistic and don't enjoy life. I also think that God wants us to enjoy life. So, we do!!!

We've made cards and goodies to celebrate our love. I took a few photos..but cannot share them at the moment as my camera is not talking to the computer. Sillyness!

Natalie and I made a chocolate cake, then homemade chocolate pudding. We then turned it into a trifle. Oh my, does it look yummy!!! Mary helped me make chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate covered pretzels. Just to add some more goodness, I made white chocolate mousse. No dieting today!!

My Honey brought me my most favorite flower...hyacinths. I just love their smell. He's so thoughtful!!! My children gave us all cards. There've been love notes written on the bathroom mirror over the last week.

How can you not enjoy a day like today??!

Love your post....actually Valentines is not a Hallmark holiday but goes back to the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia, which was celebrated on February 15. The festival was held to bring fertility to people, animals and crops. As a part of the festival young women wrote their names on scraps of parchment and put them into a bowl. Young men picked out a name and asked to be friends with the woman named it for the coming year.

About AD 400 Lupercialia was no longer celebrated. But on February 14 Christians honoured the memory of St. Valentine, a young man killed for being a Christian.
