Trackbacks???

Okay, so I am showing my ignorance here...but what exactly is a trackback???
I received 12 trackbacks this morning...before you get too excited (if it's a good thing to have trackbacks!), these came from ridiculous sites...all leading to an online pharmacy search site.

I have just wasted a good part of my computer time going to each one and deleting them. I now have trackbacks disabled on my blog.

If you know what the benefit is to having a trackback, please leave me a comment so I can understand this part of blogging.

Ugh...blogging is so cool..why do some have to add frustration to it?!

I haven't figured them out, either, but these new junk, spam ones are a pain. Don't know what will happen if we don't get rid of them, but I hate them coming. Someone figured this out and started it just the other day.

Trackbacks are a feature built into blog platforms.

Trackbacks allow you to follow a conversation or post you wrote about by sharing it with others on their blog. But, spammers have already figured a way to use that feature to sell ads or offend our eyes with P___.

The spammers use this feature by associating him/herself with you in their link back to you using the feature "Trackbacks".

On-line pharmacy is filled with porn. You do not wany any of their trackbacks. Blacklist them in your settings.

My entire blog on homesteader and homeschool bogger has been completely spamed.
