Gotta brag

Gotta brag on my men....my Honey and son have just repaired our tractor...in about an hour!!!
They are both so mechanically gifted, it's not even funny.

I am blessed with such manly men....

Thomas has been doing things mechanical since he could walk. Toby always took the time to teach him, to have him by his side. When Thomas was 6, we were about to leave to go visit my SIL and found that the Burb tire was flat. He was all set to jack up the Burb, get the impact wrench and change that tire! I probably should have let him...but Mama said let's wait for Daddy. He still did all the work, Daddy just watched.

He's changed many tires...all by himself. He's quite gifted at building things. He is currently working on swords. For Christmas, we gave him Michael Pearl's throwing knife set. He got a tomahawk and two knives, along with a DVD on how to do it. He needs to build the targets..and then he'll get started with his training.

I have no idea where Thomas' talents will lead him...I do know one thing...his Daddy has given him a gift that cannot be measured. He took the time to teach him...sure he could have done things oh so much quicker without two or three year old hands helping..but then he wouldn't be the capable young man he is today.

My Rebecca is gone...I miss her!!! But, I know she's having a grand time. They were going to a big used book store and Target. Can't get much better than that for my girl!!

Natalie is tracing some pictures from a coloring book...and Mary is coloring. It's quiet here...I am about to go work on this month's menu. I have spaghetti squash baking in the oven....sauce and meatballs are cooking away on the stove. It smells so yummy in here!!!! This will be our first time using spaghtetti squash instead of noodles...we shall see what the verdict is. I figured making it on a Saturday was a good idea...and Honey concurred...that way, if we don't care for it, I can whip up something else! More time to do that on Saturdays...

Looking forward to church in the morning. Missed Bro Dino on Wednesday..though the guest preacher was pretty good himself! It's just not the same without our beloved pastor!!

My husband is also great with mechanical things, isn't it a blessing!

I will agree with the person who posted before. It is nice to hear of someone praising her hubby!!! I have heard too many lately whine and complain and gripe about theirs!!!! I like you have a wonderful husband, willing to lend a hand whenever possible. I can only say he is a big bab y when he is sick....my only complaint on him. LOL

Loved reading this. What a treasure Toby is to teach Thomas all these things. I think it's such an important thing for a father to teach a son things such as this.
