Not a fun night...

Our neighbor came over last night about 6:30 to tell us our cows were in his field. Toby and Thomas went over...found the cows....Toby came back for me. We walked them down the road back home. All

but the new calf. We couldn't find her over there. Mama tried to go back across the creek to find her (I think), but then turned around and followed us. After fixing the fence where the cows are now, Toby,

Thomas and I then loaded up in the Scout and went looking for her. We drove our entire top pastures and didn't see her. We did find where they had pushed a gate and got out...not sure exactly how they got to

the next door neighbors place.
We came back down, went out our front pasture and crawled around, going over the fence into his property looking for her. We did hear her crying a few times and tried to follow it. But, his fence was too high

for us to get over in the dark. We think she may be near one of their trailers down farther.

At 11:30, we called it a night and came in. Heard Mama crying for her babe during the night. I am waiting for the sun to come up so Thomas and I can go searching for her. I am thankful that the cows didn't break out again.

With Mama separated from her babe, we weren't sure she would stay in. But, they are all there this morning...gotta find the babe today.

Toby, of course, went to work...so it's up to Thomas and I to not only find her, but somehow get her home. I am a bit overwhelmed by this prospect and would appreciate your prayers that we find her quickly

and get her home as easily as possible.
The birds are singing like it's a wonderful day...but I am not feeling it yet!
Guess I will get dressed and get milking done...so once the sun is up, we can begin our search....

Prayers being said that you can find your missing calf. I hope you find her in good health this morning and can return her home safely.

Hope you find your little calf and have "mother and child reunion." Hope she's in good health and not hurt or scratched up too badly. Let us know what happens.

I was so sad to read this and your post on the Homestead. I am thinking and praying for you all so much. I hope you find the baby calf. Please let us know how things are going. Thinking of you my dear friend.
