Church canceled due to....

SNOW!!!!!

Yepper....we had such beautiful white stuff falling from the sky yesterday!!! Natalie and I were making supper....and just before Honey made his daily call to tell us the great news that he's on his way home, I looked out the kitchen window to see white fluffy snow falling down. We finished up our beef stew (which got rave reviews...Daddy even said it was the best he'd ever eaten!)

Once we finished, we donned coats, gloves and beanies and headed out! We don't get alot of snow here...so it's a grand occasion when it comes!!

When the wind would blow, it was a mass of flurries. What a pretty sight!

It was neat seeing Honey drive in amidst the snow. And when he got out of his car, he was covered in snow in no time.

The children played out in the snow for a couple of hours...coming in for breaks in between..to have some hot cocoa to warm up, change to warm clothes...then right back out!

We were looking forward to church (as we always do) for the teaching, but also the ride in the snow. So, when we got the call that church was canceled, we decided to load up and go for a ride! We went down a couple of roads we've never been down before. Had we gotten that call a bit sooner, we would have had more daylight to see the pretty sights. But, it was a nice ride anyhow!

When it's cold, I warm blankets in the dryer before we leave...then I bundle my babies (okay...so they're not babies...in my mind they still are!!!) in warm blankets till the heat warms the Burb. The way back seat takes the longest to get truly warm, so Thomas and Rebecca really appreciate that warm blanket!

Mary and Natalie told Daddy how much they'd like to have a McDonald's ice cream cone...and wouldn't you know it? The Burb somehow ended up there! We all had cones..Daddy had a McFlurry...and then they played on the playplace for awhile. We sat, watching the snow fall in the light outside. What a pretty sight!

We then headed home, it was snowing much more as we left town and got back to our country.

Sadly, this morning, after a nighttime rain, most of the beautiful white stuff is gone...hopefully, we will get more! Mary's birthday (5...how can my baby be five?!!!) is Saturday and she soooo wants snow for it! She's having a princess tea party...and wouldn't snow just be too neat of a gift for her?!

Thank you so much for posting that video on your blog. It really touched my dh's heart. He's calling everyone he knows telling them about it!

Nothing like a beautiful snow. I hope we get some this winter.
Your snow evening sounds wonderful!! What a great family you all are. Just love reading about all the special times you guys have.
