Birthday Wishes from Laurie's Husband

Hello, Laurie's husband Toby here. On the eve of Laurie's birthday I thought I'd mention a few traits that she possesses that make her wonderful and me fortunate.

She's a very attentive listener. I cannot remember a time when her eyes glazed over while I was talking to her . Which is amazing considering how dry some of the topics I speak on are.

Her complete and selfless dedication to us, her family. Often, no, daily denying herself for our betterment. She would argue that this just isn't so.

Humbleness. She would say that it's nothing extraordinary, that she only does what any wife and mother should do. I say it is extraordinary, uncommon in today's world and she deserves much more credit.

She is the information hub of our family and home. How she keeps it all straight I'll never understand.

She seems to have boundless energy and enthusiasm and an unsinkable positive attitude. She even has enough in reserve to often coax one of us out of the doldrums.

Even though our home looks like an educational materials warehouse she manages to keep the pathways clear of obstructions and navigable. Usually she can find anything you ask for in a few minutes or less.

I rise for work at 3:30 am. She never fails to rise with me to prepare my lunch, pray with me, hug me, kiss me, tell me she loves me and see me off.

She possesses contagious joyfulness.

She eagerly expresses her gratitude. Which causes us to consider ours.

Our home is a place that other kids like to come to. There is nothing fancy and little that is modern here. I guess they just feel welcome. She makes it so. I'm grateful for that.

Her emotions do not rule her life. But add great flavor to it. She is level headed but never dull . Always tasting life fully and adding a lot of spice to mine.

She is a great encourager and makes you feel as though you can do anything.

Her eyesight is not so good though. She thinks I'm handsome and tells me so often. I'm grateful for that.

Ditto her hearing. She says the sound of my voice gives her goosebumps. 

She does not complain, whine, pout, or mullygrub. Nor has she ever expressed a need to go find herself. She is the most stable, well adjusted person I've ever known.

I find it easy to make her laugh. Sometimes I'll be looking away from her while talking and turn to find her in a fit of laughter due to something I said. But I can't imagine what. 

Our children are very bright and well educated due mostly to her efforts.

I could go on for a long time this way. I have purposefully left out the more personal facets of this diamond of mine. But let me say that I am satisfied beyond measure in all marital dimensions, lacking nor wanting for anything or anyone else.

I am married to my closest friend on earth and I wish you the happiest of birthdays.

May God bless you with infinite abundance for all your needs and wants according to his wisdom and will.

You and the children you bore us are evidence that he has just so blessed me

I could not believe the drama when I clicked on the video....it is exactly what our church did on Sunday....I almost had to do a double take....it it wasn't for the one girls dress, I would have thought it was done at our church.....wow!!!

Wasn't that an awesome drama....thanks for posting that.
