Be who you are....

Something has been on my mind lately...guess I need to blog about it!

Why do we....as women, as Christians, as humans...feel the need to not be who we are? Or feel the need to allow others to determine who we are? Or feel the need to change ourselves because we feel we don't measure up? Or feel the need to make others feel that they need to change?

I am first and foremost a child of God. My next most important "title" is that of wife. Right behind that one is Mama. As long as I am "right" in the eyes of my Lord, Honey and children, I don't really care what others think.

Well, I do care....but not enough to change who I am to suit them.

I see women who judge others by their own "rules". I see women who change who they are based upon whom they are with. I see women who act one way sometimes, and another way other times. And I can't help but wonder how they keep it all straight? Wouldn't life be oh so much easier just to be yourself????

I am a huggy, touchy-feely person. I like to be with children...my own and others. I like to hang out with them. I'm not trying to be their "friend" only. I just enjoy their company. They are fun!

Sometimes, I wonder why we place all these "rules" upon ourselves. What is the point? Are we trying to impress God? Impress others? What's the point if you are not who you truly are?

Life would be so much richer if we just were who we are...and let the chips fall where they may.
