October already?

Wow...where has this year gone???? October 1st already? Soon it will be birthday season, Thanksgiving and Christmas...and a brand new year!

I have removed the last two posts I made regarding wearing skirts only. It seems to not be a popular opinion...and I felt it caused the same divisive-ness I was lamenting in my posts. Some opinions are just not to be talked about, I guess. No matter...I know what I feel...and I am confident in my choices. If you disagreed with me, realize that we are all entitled to our own opinion.  That's all I'll write on the subject.

This week is a stay at home one for us!! Love those weeks!!! We won't be going anywhere...not even bowling. We are concentrating on getting our schoolwork done so we can take the week off when Daddy will be home on vacation. Speaking of which, vacation is in two weeks!!! We are sooooo looking forward to having Daddy all to ourselves for 10 days!!!!

School is going well. Still waiting on the French tests I ordered to arrive. While I love the curriculum, shipping is less than optimum. They are very friendly about shipping delays and have sent me additional materials for no charge due to the delays.

The weather has turned much nicer!! Mid-80's during the day and low 50's at night. Love that!!!

My folks arrived last Sunday. It's so good to have them home again!!! They were gone far too long this last time. We sure miss them when they are on the road.  Since they are here, Honey and I went on a date Saturday night! What a lovely time we had. Went to a nice restaurant for supper...then to Books A Million to browse and lounge. I found 5 magazines and a book on organizing your home to read over while Honey looked for harmonica books. I read all of them! No need to waste $5 on a magazine that I read in about 15 minutes! Rebecca is an excellent babysitter. I trust her implicitly. Such a fine example of a daughter she is! Grammy checked on them but it was Rebecca in charge. We left at 5:30 and returned home about 10:30. I came home to my two younger children sound asleep in their beds, the kitchen cleaned up (dishes in dishwasher, counters wiped down, floor swept) and Thomas and Rebecca watching a movie together. What a wonderful way to end a wonderful evening! I am so blessed to have my children. She will be an excellent babysitter once she begins doing that for others. She's waiting until she at least has her learner's permit to do so. Will make her feel better then. I know I sure made alot of money babysitting during high school. It's a job she can do (and do well) and make some money, all while offering an invaluable service to others. Who do you trust your babes with??? I'd trust any babe with Rebecca. She's so awesome!!

Tomorrow is our Mom's night out with the homeschool group. I LOVE this night!!! It is such fun! Especially if my great friend Misty is there...and she definitely will be there tomorrow!!! I have fun with all of the ladies...but Misty just adds a certain fun element! Love ya, Misty!  It doesn't really matter where we meet...whatever restaurant it turns out to be. This month is not my favorite restaurant, but I'm sure I'll find something there...the company is what I go for!!

Time to move laundry to the dryer. I had planned to hang most of the laundry out today....but upon opening the door when my beloved left this morning changed that idea! Our neighbors started burning some land debris over the weekend. My clothes would smell like we worked in a bbq restaurant if I hung them out... ick!!!

I missed your posts on dresses only... I am way behind on reading friends' blogs here... but I wanted you to know that if you choose to wear dresses only I do respect your choice and see the value of it. I wear mostly skirts and dresses, but do wear pants to work in around the farm if I am painting or doing dirty work......... but I do love the "feeling" I have when I put on a skirt or dress..... I feel like a lady and that is something of worth.... I am sorry if you did not feel supported here on that topic...... I do think many of the ladies here do wear dresses here so I am suprised.

In any case, I am glad you are not offended and can move on and feel good about your choices!
