A week ago....

A week ago today...about 6:30pm....began this latest journey....a journey back to health. I cannot believe an entire week has passed since the awful day when Gentle stomped on my face.

I am bruised....it's turning yellow...I know that's a good thing...means it's healing.

But I am tired of feeling so run down. Tired of sitting. Tired of being in pain. Tired of not being able to do much of anything. Tired of not being held at night by my Honey cause I can't lay close to him. Tired of not getting real kisses. Tired...just tired....

But, I am also thankful. Thankful that I am still able to feel pain. That I am still here with my babies. Thankful that I can still get kisses from my Honey (on the side..but they're kisses!). Thankful that it wasn't any worse. Thankful that my Lord protected me from being paralyzed or worse. Thankful for our incredible friends and family. Thankful just to still be here to love my Honey and raise our babies.

You know, something like this episode sure causes one to stop and think...to reflect. Am I doing all I should? Am I putting my time into things that have lasting value? Am I all that I can be?

And the answer is no....sure, in some ways I am doing well. But, I want so much more. If I were to not be here any longer, I want to know that my children would be well able to take care of things....and they are to a point...but I see where I have not been the best teacher for them.

Change....it's a good thing. It's something that we will be doing over the next few months. Course, we're always changing, aren't we? But, purposeful change....that's what ahead for us.

I am ever so thankful to my Lord and Saviour...from whom all blessings flow. He allowed me more time here on earth to be with my family. Heaven sounds wonderful...but so is my little home here in Tennessee. It's filled with those I hold most dear and cherish. Now, it's time for me to make the changes that I have felt for awhile...but needed a big kick in the pants to follow through on!

What a beautiful post. I am glad you are feeling better. Think of you daily my sweet friend.
I think I will join you in change....I know there are things in my life I could work on and change.

I just found your blog. Before my ds, I was pregnant with another baby. I miscarried and did a lot of what ifs. We were blessed with my ds two years ago. I will pray for you and your family. I
