And then they do....

My Natalie and Mary LOVE ducks...and have several families of them that reside in our bathtub...

Last night, my Honey was in the shower...he commented about the duck families living in there...and how hard they make it to find the soap when you drop it....

I said...."they'll be gone too soon". He agreed and told me how much he'd miss those ducks when they were no longer loved as they are now.

Our children will be grown way too soon. Our oldest is 14...seems only yesterday she was a tiny newborn babe....

Yes, way too soon....

Toby reminded me of the one and only Trace Adkins song that we like...And Then They Do... here are the lyrics...

In the early rush of morning
Trying to get the kids to school
One's hanging on my shirttail
Another's locked up
In her room
And I'm yelling up the stairs
Stop worrying 'bout your hair
You look fine

Then they're fightin' in the backseat
I'm playing referee
Now someone's gotta go
The moment that we leave
And everybody's late
I swear that I can't wait
'Till they grow up

(Chorus) Then they do
And that's how it is
It's just quiet in the morning
Can't believe
How much you miss
All they do
And all they did
You want all the dreams
They dreamed of
To come true
Then they do

Now the youngest is starting college
She'll be leavin' in the Fall
And Brianna's latest boyfriend
Called to ask if we could talk
And I got the impression
That he's about to pop the question any day

I look over at their pictures
Sittin' in their frames
I see them as babies
I guess that'll never change
You pray all their lives
That someday they will find happiness

(Chorus)

No more Monday PTA's
No carpools
Or soccer games
Your work is done
Now you've got time
That's all your own
You've been waitin' for so long
For those days to come

(Chorus)

Okay...so we don't rush off to school in the morning and we don't do PTA and soccer games. But, the sentiment is the same. We actively try to not rush through life...and miss all these little moments that will be gone all too quickly. We want to relish in the every day things...and even those every day things that could be annoying. Mom's words of wisdom... "This too shall pass" sticks in my mind. Usually, I use it as a reminder that this little stress or that will be over with soon...but it also means that all these wonderful things will pass too....

I am trying to learn all the lessons I can from our miscarriage. If we are so blessed to have another babe, I want to relish that pregnancy. Even the morning sickness. Even the gagging on my toothbrush and thay annoying stray hair that must migrate to my mouth. Even the waddling large prego time. All of it. For I would so dearly love to be experiencing those things right now. We would be half way to birth day now...and I am so sad that we are not. But, the Lord is still on the throne even when I don't understand.

All those Mamas out there who complain...about being pregnant, about losing sleep due to a newborn, about a growth spurt and having to nurse all the time, about not being able to do this or that....look at your babe. And relish this moment. For there is one Mama here in TN who would dearly love to be in your position right now.

It's hard sometimes to see the blessings right before your eyes. Sometimes, we have to push aside the day to day stuff and concentrate on them. They are there all along...we just passed them by in our rush to get through the day.... Find them and treasure them...for they will too soon pass...

Laurie, I couldn't agree more. There's a lady in WV who would dearly love to be pregnant right now too! I;d out up with anything, just to be a momma. Hugs to you my dear friend.
