A new church home!!

We haven't attended church on a regular basis since we moved...three years ago. We tried some...but they just weren't a good fit for our family.

All of that changed last week. My friend, Josephine, invited us to the church they had been attending. We went last week and just loved it! The music, the fellowship, the preaching...it was all great! We went back this week, not realizing it was the Pastor Appreciation Day...they were having a carry in dinner after the service. We had planned to leave quietly as we hadn't brought any food to share. A few of the ladies asked us to stay, that there was plenty of food. So...we stayed. And my yes, was there ever plenty of food! The fellowship was soothing to my soul. We have missed this...and are so glad to have it again!

Also, the Lord was so good to me....I have been having a hard time with the memory of our miscarriage...thinking I would have been half way to birth day now...and so sad that our babe is not here with us any longer. Just sadness.... Yesterday, we went to visit with some friends..and meet some new friends. One of the ladies announced she was pregnant. While I was thrilled for her, it sure brought my own feelings of loss to the surface. Toby held me and told me that the Lord knows my feelings and my sadness. He has a plan for us...though we don't know what it may be regarding this... I kept thinking of "He'll never leave me or forsake me...."... This morning, before we left for church, I was again thinking that. I asked the Lord to have someone say that today...just to reinforce it to me. My Lord is so faithful! One of the men leading worship this morning said it...and I just felt a touch...as if God Himself were telling me those words....and it was a comfort to me. I still don't understand. And I'm still sad. But, knowing that the Lord cares enough to have those words spoken...just for me...sure soothes my soul.

We pray for more babes. We surely aren't done. I can't imagine deciding for ourselves that our family is "complete". How do you say no to the incredible blessing of another child? How do you turn that down? I don't understand. I had "planned" to have more children by this point in my life...and in our marriage. We've been married for 16 years...and have 4 children. I had planned to have about 8 by now. Goes to show me how futile my "planning" is! I have to rest in the knowledge that God knows what we need...and that He gives it to us.

I'm off to decorate a very special cake. I'll post more about that later...

I can only hope and pray that I too someday find the church that is right for me. I feel as tho the Lord is pulling me towards a certain one, I have to get there and see. My car isnt running now so I cant get there just yet.
I do hope the Lord sees to it that you get your babies that you long for. I would have loved to have had more than three, but I do feel as tho I am done with that and now just pray that I will be blessed with many many grandbabies.
