Friday night!

Oh, what an exciting week this has been!

Tuesday was my homeschool group's Mom's Night Out. What a great time we had! I did shed a few tears on the way home...seeing pregnant friends was a bit harder than I thought it would be. It was also 3 weeks ago the same day that our babe died. I had a bit of an emotional night that night...but am better now! Thanks to friends..and their prayers.

Wednesday, Thomas had a dentist appmt for a filling. A friend of ours met us there with her two girls (16 & 19) and her grandchildren. We had lunch at McDonald's. Not the healthiest place to eat...but I had a salad..actually about a half a salad..I lost interest and threw it away. Such a nice visit. It's so comforting to have a friend who will shed tears with you and share in your grief.

After we left McDonald's, we headed to the bulk food store. I ordered wheat, which will be in next week. This is a change that has been needed for some time...much reading about this has been done by my beloved and I...time to take the plunge and do it! Also bought steel cut oats. Another thing we need to incorporate into our diet. Glad to find a source to buy these things.

From there, we went to an herbal store. They sell soaps, teas, homeopathic items and much more. We inquired about her selling lye to me for soapmaking..and to my delight, she DID!!!! I have had a desire to make soap for such a long time..but could not find a source to buy it...without it costing an arm and a leg. Now, there is a jar of 60 oz of lye in my utility room! (on the top shelf of a high cabinet, clearly marked with skull and cross bones, thanks to my Honey!)

It was then time to head home...a full day..but such a good one!!

Thursday was a day at home..love those!! The weather is just beautiful right now. It could stay just like this and suit me fine and dandy! I dread summer's arrival. I am not a hot weather person...I just want to hole up in the house with the a/c cooling me off. So glad that we live in TN and not FL any longer...there it was hot, hot or hotter. Here, we do have 4 distinct seasons, so I can endure summer's heat because I know there is an end in sight...

Today was a big day too! Rebecca and Thomas are taking guitar lessons. Rebecca is continuing with piano while learning guitar. Thomas dropped piano to do guitar. His teacher told him she very much wants him to return to piano...he has a natural talent for it. I hope he does as well. Anyhow, the guitars arrived today!!! Rebecca's acoustic and Thomas' electric and amp. Bummer that the amp didn't come with a cord...so that will wait till after my shopping trip tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, it's time for my monthly big grocery shopping trip. I am down to twice a month shopping...the first for a big trip...the second for produce and anything I may have forgotten. This keeps us home more, out of Wal Mart more and saving more money. Love all those things!
