Saturday ramblings..

It's 6pm..supper is done, Thomas is finishing drying the dishes. Nope, the dishwasher hasn't been installed yet. We are all quite excited to have it soon. My Honey will get in put in as soon as he can. He's waiting for the cabinet that we ordered to arrive so he can install them together. I figure that we've lived without one this long, a little longer won't be too tough.

Rebecca, Mary and I went to town today. I got a haircut...sure did need it! Rebecca was looking at some spray stuff...and Cindy, my stylist reached over and put a different, larger bottle in my purse for her! She said she had plenty, to take that one for her. How sweet was that?! Toby called me while I was there, he needed a fuel pump for Tonto. So, after we left the salon, we went to pick up the fuel pump and fuel filter. That wasn't too expensive..only $24...one of the perks of a much older vehicle!

From there, we went to Wal Mart. Grocery shopping day. I had been putting it off for some time..and today was the day. Wal Mart was sure busy! I forgot a couple of things and left Rebecca with Mary and the cart while I ran back and got them. I came up to the 10 items or less register, thinking that would be quick....ummm...would have been if the inconsiderate shopper ahead of me had heeded the 10 items or less sign! She had the belt completely full...I counted 14 pieces of clothing alone! Grrr....oh well....can't let the little things bother me. But, the speedy checkouts might actually be speedy if folks followed the simple rules!!

I had a tough time seeing a couple of brand new babes today. Rebecca saw them as well...she put her arm around me and told me it was okay. How sweet is she?

On the way home, we stopped by for feed. We are taking the pigs in to be processed this coming Friday. That will be a huge reduction in our feed bill!!! Not to mention, having a freezer full of meat always makes me happy. Looking forward to a freezer full of beef...we tend to eat more beef than pork. But, I'll be happy with this too!!

I was reading some blogs today...something has been bugging me ever since. I read a blog that talked about how they don't celebrate Valentine's Day. Please. Can't we as Christians, celebrate anything? No, we don't bow down and worship St. Valentine. And we celebrate love all year long, not just on Valentine's Day. We don't do Santa for Christmas. And we don't do Halloween. But, how legalistic can you get? It's a day to celebrate love in our home. We do nice things for each other. Make valentines to give each other. And make and give candies and treats. There's no worshipping anybody. I just think that some folks get so caught up in what others think, or the legalistic views on things and don't really enjoy life. Some things are just fun...and it's really okay for us to enjoy them...without having to delve into every nuance of a situation.

My other vent is the cervical cancer vaccine. Ummm...this is to prevent a disease that is sexually transmitted. So, why are states making this mandatory for 11 year olds?????? Please don't give me "they're going to do it anyway, so let's make it "safe" argument!!! My children are taught that sex is reserved for marriage. Should they choose otherwise, it's between them and God. I am not about to give them any impression that it is in any way acceptable before that. I do believe that children rise up to the expectations their parents have of them. My daughters will not be getting this vaccine. Mandatory or not....

Those are my vents for tonight. I have a few more...but I won't bore you with them tonight. I'm glad to have this outlet to put my thoughts and feelings out there...

Monsieur Le Poo Poo just struck again...he was outside just 5 minutes ago and we were praising him for doing #1 out there. Why oh why won't he do #2 outside???! I know, he'll get it. I'm just ready for him to get it now!

Gotta go tend to a poochie....

Sounds like you had a busy and productive day.. Your daughter sounds like such a sweet loving girl... but I don't know how else she COULD be with a mama like you.. :) You are the best mama! :)
