Our big news for 2007!

This year has already started out wonderfully! We had such a nice holiday season. Enjoyed visiting with our family. The weather has been so warm...not winter like at all. We are back to school and into our regular routine.

So, what's our big news?! We have been blessed with another babe!! Our wee one is about 6 weeks old now.   He/She should be making his/her appearance in early September. To say we are excited is such an incredible understatement! I did the test on Tuesday, the 2nd...and kept it to myself until Friday, the 5th. This is our fifth babe...and I have never surprised Toby with the news of a babe...this time, though, I did!! I was able to keep it in until the day of our anniversary. What a wonderful gift!

The children are all so looking forward to meeting their new sibling.  We have found Baby Center.com has weekly e-mails that tell what your baby is doing each week. How interesting to know what is going on inside week to week. Did you know that week 6 means the babe's heart is already beating?! Or that the limbs will begin moving towards the end of this week? How incredible! (I don't want to put a damper on my excitement..but I just have to add....how can anyone not "know" that this is a baby...and not some blob of tissue? These things don't happen to a blob...and yet, how many Mothers abort their child at this age...and even beyond? It's just incomprehensible to me that it even happens...let alone that it's legal...or how much it happens...) So much happening in my womb. What a wonderful feeling to be pregnant! To know the little life forming in there will one day soon join our family in the flesh. We will wonder how we ever lived without him or her.

This week is our youngest, Mary's birthday. She will be the big 4! Time sure does fly! Perhaps it's being pregnant again, but I can so vividly recall her birth. Mary was my easiest and shortest labor. 3 hours and 10 minutes from the time my water broke. Contractions began 30 minutes after...Our midwife arrived in time to say "Push!" What a wonderful birth!!

We are planning another homebirth for this babe. Our births so far have been free standing birth center, unassisted homebirth, back to the birth center, midwife assisted homebirth. This one is planned for midwife assisted as well. But, you know, if it turned out to be just us, I think we'd be fine with that too. We trust God to take care of us and this babe He has given us.

So, that's our big news! 2007 does feel like an incredible year already. What blessings we have been given...and they just keep coming, thanks be to God!     We are indeed abundantly blessed!!!!
