Our 16th Wedding Anniversary

Today, we celebrate sixteen years of wedded bliss...and yes, it is indeed bliss. We grow more in love with each other as time goes on. I am completely confident of Toby's love for me...and I trust that he is in my love for him. We don't fight, we don't argue, we don't nit-pick, we don't yell, we don't degrade each other.
We uplift, encourage, exhort and love each other. Toby is my very best friend in the entire world...and always has been...since before marriage. That's the key...that and waiting for God to bring you the person He wants you to spend the rest of your life with!

In my tradition, here are 16 things about our marriage

1. Love...it's full of love

2. Support...Toby completely supports me in whatever I take on...homebirth, homeschooling, farm endeavours...if it's important to me, it becomes important to him

3. Companionship

4. 4 incredible children...what a result of our love!!!

5. The Fifth...it's our special day...our first date was on August 5, 1989...and we celebrate our anniversary each month on the fifth. Some call us silly...but we love each other and want to recognize the specialness of the day!

6. A place to completely be yourself...with no fear of condemnation....just complete acceptance.

7. A loving physical relationship that blossoms from year to year. The marriage bed is definitely a gift from God.

8. A man who is completely devoted to me...never does he stray, never does he avoid coming home.

9. An encouraging word...especially on days when things are not going right.

10. A reminder to slow down and smell the roses.

11. A grounding that I dearly need....I am the eternal optimist...and sometimes don't see the danger ahead of me.

12. A strong, manly man...there's no girly-ness in my man!!! He's all man...doing manly things in a manly way!!

13. Warm arms to hold me tight each night.

14. Kisses whenever he departs...even if it's just to go outside for a minute and come back....as well as kisses as soon as he gets home from work each day.

15. Devotion...working a job he doesn't necessarily like just to support me and our family. Giving ALL to us.

16. A wonderful person to grow old...very old...with!!

Happy Anniversary, Honey!!! You are more than my other half...you are my everything!!! I love you!!
