Thursday night, 4 days till Christmas!!

It has been a productive day today! Mom and I went shopping in the big town yesterday...we shopped all day long. It was wonderful to spend time just the two of us. I have such fun with my Mom. I hear others complain about their Moms...and it's obvious that they don't have a good relationship. It makes me sad...for both of them..cause they are missing out on so much! My Mom has always been there for me...my entire life....and we do have a great relationship. We know each other's thoughts before we speak. We are on the same wave length...we can complete each other's sentences. Isn't that the way it's supposed to be? This wonderful woman gave birth to me, nurtured me, raised me, and when it was time, let me go to my own home with my husband and subsequent children. She is an excellent Grammy too.
Okay...so I got a little long winded talking about my Mom. Perhaps I am feeling sentimental cause in a week, they will be gone...for months and months on end. I will miss her (and Dad too, of course! ) dearly. They will be wandering the west and returning in September.

So, back to my productive day....after we shopped till we dropped, we both had completed our shopping! How cool is that? What's even better? I wrapped EVERYTHING this morning before the children awoke! Yee-haw! No wrapping all Christmas Eve for me this year!!! The presents are all tucked away under the tree. After morning chores were completed, we had breakfast and moved onto baking.... Natalie, Mary and I baked sugar cookies. Rebecca made cashew chocolate clusters and then chocolate fudge. Grammy helped her make a batch of peanut butter fudge. But they like it, so I guess that's okay!

Thomas fixed the fence where Cheeseburger, the world's most annoying bull who needs to reside in our freezer, keeps getting out. That boy is so talented! He also put the finishing touches on the big gift for Natalie and Mary...a kitchen!!!

Tomorrow, the tradition of decorating sugar cookies with Grammy continues....while I bake stained glass window cookies and any other treat I think we just "have" to have for Christmas!

It's after 8 now...and I am ready for bed. My beloved is back from shutting the chickens and ducks in their respective houses...time to sleep!

Loved reading about the love you have for your mom. I also feel the same way about my mom...she is wonderful.
For some reason...reading your blog about your family, always gives me such a peaceful feeling. You and your family are wonderful and love each other so much and I LOVE that.
