Good chilly morning to ya!

It's been awhile...sorry....

Winter has officially arrived here...it's supposed to be in the lower 40's for highs and upper teens for the lows...so that pretty much means that beautiful fall weather we were having is over. It's okay..we like the snuggling up in the house weather too. The outside chores are a bit harder to handle...but they don't take all that long to do.

Yesterday was the Christmas parade in town. Our little town had their parade last weekend. I love both of them...the one in town is larger..but the one in our town is so hometown-y. We just go to the end of our road to watch that one! The children always get lots of candy at ours. But, we love parades, so having two to go to is great! Not to mention, the one in town, we always meet up with our friends and sit with them. So, we get to watch the parade and enjoy their company too! Great combo!!

After the parade, we went to Home Depot...got our tree!!!! Now, I need to do some searching for the missing tree skirt, sheet and two of the six stockings...Mary's and mine seem to be missing.... that means a trip to the attic...and I really don't care for going up there digging...the ceiling is so low, I never fail to bang my head at least once.

Gentle is back to herself again. That sure was a trial. God has blessed us with a wonderful milk cow...she is giving us 3 gallons of milk a day...it's hard to keep up with her production! I made cream cheese and cultured buttermilk...and butter...over the weekend...but it didn't put a dent in the milk in the frig...there's still 12 gallons out there! ...with 2 more to come this morning...We have been drinking milk with each meal....but even a family of 6 can only drink so much milk! Listen to me...what an incredible blessing we have....I'm not really complaining..just need to do more with that blessing.

Rebecca and I mixed up cookie dough over the weekend..well, Rebecca did most of it...I had to rescue her once...I told her to double the sugar cookie recipe and it was a bit much in the mixer.  (love that smilie!)....so, we have the sugar cookie dough as well as stained glass window cookie dough in the freezer. Feels good to be a bit ahead of that game...

It's time to wake the children and get on with our day...we are hitting the books again today after a Thanksgiving break.

The weather has changed here as well. We got all our Christmas stuff out and in the process of opening the totes let out several lady bugs that have made their winter home within the totes among our decorations. UGH! LOL Oh you reminded I have to get to making Christmas cookies too.
