Still learning...

Milking time is fun time. It's time for just Thomas and I to be out there with Gentle. Time to talk, to dream, to enjoy each other. I have seen a change in Thomas already. He is completely in his element out there in the barn. He works hard and does not complain. He gets with the program, gets the job done and enjoys a bit of rest.

It has carried over into the rest of our lives as well. He is more patient with the girls, more readily gets his school work done, more readily helps around the house.

Could it be that he has found that which fulfills his 10 year boy-ness? He told me last night that he really enjoys milking, he doesn't see it as a chore.
We worked together getting Gentle's bedding in, then worked on the goat area, off to the ducks, then worked a bit on the pig area. All in all, it was about 90 minutes of working...constant working. But, it felt so good. And it felt especially good to do it with my son. He is such an incredible blessing to me!!!

Speaking of that...it's time to go milk...his alarm just went off. He jumps out of bed, turns his alarm off and makes his bed. He will be dressed and ready to head out before I finish this and get offline.

Gotta go!!

My eldest needed a "job" too and took/takes it very seriously. Isn't it wonderful.

I love milking time too.
