Tears...

We have been gone all day....a wonderful day in Nashville.

I got online to check e-mail and figured I would answer messages in the morning since we are late getting to bed....then I visited the Homestead....and saw a post that made me bawl...

A good friend of mine, Leah, lost her Mom to cancer last night. What a testament to this woman's life. Her family all know that she loved them and loved God. She lived her life out loud in front of her family. Her children all rise up and call her blessed. Her husband cherished her. What precious memories this family has....

While they are obviously thankful that she is no longer suffering or in pain, they must be so sad that she is no longer here. No longer can they pick up the phone and talk to her, or stop by to visit. No longer will they celebrate holidays, birthdays and special occasions together.

I know that if we truly believe the Lord and His word, we won't be sad, we'll be rejoicing as our loved ones who pass on are now in His presence...and we will see them again. But, the grief and sorrow that those left here can be so overwhelming.

Thankfully, my parents are both still living. I talk to them at least once a week...and get to have them here for extended visits. They are still very much a big part of our lives.

I am in tears for this family...and it is bringing back all sorts of memories for me...my Aunt Di was my second Mom and so incredibly important to me...she died in 1995...and it still feels like it was yesterday. My Gram also is terribly missed...and Pap...and so many more. I know they are all there waiting to greet me....but I miss them so.

If you would like to read the blog that shows the strength of love....to see the love poured out in each entry from each of her children, here is the blog to visit...

Get ready for some tears..they are sure flowing here right now...

Leah, if you happen to read this, we will keep you and your family in prayer...

And, for me, I need to remember to always show the love to my family that I feel so deeply within me. So they never doubt how truly special and loved they are.
