Today was a good day...a long one, but a good one!
We did some grocery shopping on the way home. It had been awhile since I had been shopping, so it took over an hour. Ugh...
Arrived home just before my beloved. He had stopped to get a bar for the tractor so he can hook up other things to it and use them. Will be nice to have it!
He took Thomas to an archery shop. Our friend had given Thomas a bow the other day. It is in excellent condition, just needed to be re-strung. Toby and Thomas stopped for feed, then to the archery shop, then to get some fuel in the Burb. With the extra running, going to church on Sunday would have wiped out the fuel! There isn't a gas station close to church, so it would not have been a good thing to run out anywhere between here and church!
Just before they arrived home, the archery shop called to say that they had it finished! There wasn't time to go back to pick it up, so that will have to wait till next week as they aren't open on the weekend.
We are planning a quiet weekend..been far too busy lately. I am sure we will get things done around the farm, just no running around.
Last night was the first cake decorating class for Rebecca and I. It was a nice class...since it's a repeat for me, it was a bit boring...but I still learned some new tips. Next week will be more fun...we decorate a cake! I am so thankful to have this time to do this special activity with Rebecca. She is 13...and before I know it...after I blink...she will be a grown woman and all....I treasure time to spend with her.
We found some coupons for free cones at McDonald's...I had used all the cash I had for the course book...I thought it would be included in the course fee....but it was not. So, we dug around and found the coupons and enjoyed ice cream cones on the way home. Sure made Rebecca happy! She loves soft ice cream!
I was just looking around blog world...and found the saddest thing...I had seen her blog before...but I guess the sadness of it allowed me to forget.... Here is the link to her blog Susan is pregnant and due to be induced this coming Tuesday, Sept 12th. What should be such a happy time in their family's life is rife with sadness and grief. Their unborn child is safe while in the womb...once the babe is born, death will come soon. Their babe has Potter's Syndrome...something I had never heard of before... It means their babe does not have kidneys...and will die shortly after birth. They were advised to "terminate" the pregnancy but boldly and with incredible faith have determined to let God have His role in this child's life. Oh to be that faithful...and to have that strength. I pray no other Mother has to endure this pain...can you imagine..knowing before your due date even arrives, that when that day does arrive, your babe will die soon after the labor and toil of giving birth? Oh, the tears are flowing now...I just can't imagine it...I pray that the Lord holds them in His arms...
Sorry to end on such a sad note...but I am out of words...nothing in my day to day ramblings can hold a candle to what this family is experiencing. Please pray for the Godfrey family...
