Happy 7th birthday, Natalie!!!!

Today is my Natalie's seventh birthday!! Can't believe how quickly time passes...

So, in our new tradition, here are Seven things about our seven year old!

1. She's loving, kind and generous

2. She's tender hearted

3. She LOVES cats...all animals, really

4. She loves to cuddle...and tell me I'm the best Mama in the whole world.  

5. She loves to help

6. She's a great little sister...big sister too!

7. She desires to grow up, get married and be a Mama...just like her Mama...

And one more...Natalie is all girl...there's no tomboy in this girl! She loves dresses, makeup, purses, shoes, pink, dolls, anything girlie. Natalie is such a special part of our family.
She was not born at home...she was born at the birth center. We thought she was a boy (not that we had "peeked"..we just thought...) except for Rebecca...she knew that baby was a girl! When we arrived at the birth center, we had our choice of two rooms..one pink, one blue. Rebecca told us to use the pink room, since she was so confident Natalie was a girl. And Rebecca was so pleased!!!

Thomas stayed by my side the entire labor time...he panted with me, paced with me, he was my little man! When Natalie was born, he would not leave her side..he fell asleep on the floor next to the bassinet where Natalie was sleeping while we did the final stuff before heading home.

Natalie's name is Natalie Diane. She is named after two very, very special people in our life. Natalie was Toby's Grandmother. Quite a special lady. She and Toby lived together, taking care of each other from the time Toby was 14 until her death in 1994. She was so very important in his life. Diane was my Aunt Di....an awesome woman whom I still miss like it was yesterday that she went to be with the Lord. She died in 1995, at the age of 41. Diane had juvenile diabetes and suffered greatly for the last few years of her life...but she'd never let you know that. Even doped up on morphine and in excrutiating pain, she still had a smile for us. Both of these women were strong...but not bossy. They were kind, generous and sweet. Never a bad word about anyone. I can't think of two better ladies to name our daughter after.

Today, we are baking a big cookie for Natalie! She had a party with Thomas on Saturday...so we are having a big cookie instead of more cake. She has requested pancakes for her birthday breakfast and spaghetti and meatballs for her supper. We are surprising her with a trip to Mt. Zion today!!!

Happy Birthday, my sweet Natalie!!!! We love you so!!!!

Hello friend. I wanted to take time to wish Natalie a very happy birthday. You have such a special girl with Natalie.....all of your children and so precious and kind...just like you!!!

Laurie - what a very sweet post about Natalie - I went back and read the one about Thomas too - such a great idea - with the number of things about them!!!
I LOVE your kitchen - I have one of those horrible stoves too - I keep praying mine will go out so that I can get a gas one - everything in the house will go out but that!!!
