Happy 11th Birthday, Thomas

Eleven Things About Thomas

1. He's my only son

2. He's kind, gentle and considerate

3. He's quite gifted in mechanical     ability

4. He's creative

5. He's protective of his sisters

6. He still loves to cuddle with his Mama  

7. He's lots of fun to hang out with

8. He helps his Daddy...even when it's hot and icky outside

9. He's the man of the house when Daddy's away at work

10. He can shoot a gun...and actually kill the varmints that are invading

11. He was our first homebirth

 

Thomas' birth was amazing. Yes, he was our first homebirth...with no midwife. It was just Toby delivering this blessing. Our pregnancy was very uneventful, aside from the incredible event of just being pregnant. Labor was not terribly long, though in the throes of it, seemed incredibly long! I was so hot...and all those family members who were there were so cold! We really leaned heavily on God for this pregnancy. And He was faithful to our prayers.

Thomas' birth was such an awe inspiring event. It drew Toby and I closer than ever before. And we had a son. Who didn't have a name for three days! But, a son...Toby was so happy to have a son. As soon as Thomas could walk well, he was Daddy's shadow. Toby took such time to teach Thomas all the things he knows today. He was using tools that some grown men have never used at a young age. Yes, he gets a bit headstrong sometimes and doesn't stop to consider...but, he has such a thirst to build things, fix things, take things apart, and explore.

He loves to go in the woods and chop down little trees. Soon, he will have enough little trees to build something. He's not sure what...but he does love to conquer!

Thomas is a joy to our family and such a blessing to his Daddy and Mama.

I have goose bumps after reading this. Your love for your only son shines so bright!! Boys sure love their mama's and hold such a special place in our hearts. I wish Thomas a great and fun birthday.....sounds like you girls are going to make his day very special. My thoughts are with you all today on this special day. Love ya my friend.

This was a wonderful tribute to your son. You are a great mama, that is why you have such a great son (and daughters too, but we are talking about your son). A very Happy Birthday to Thomas!
