We just returned from a ride around looking for a location to have our upcoming birthday celebration. Thomas turns 11 on August 22nd and Natalie turns 7 on August 30th. I think we have found a suitable location. Our original choice is a beautiful setting where many people go. There is a church there...and a pavilion...we found out yesterday that the pavilion is already reserved for our party day. Bummer that it is...it also led us to go for a drive. And we found another beautiful place. It's near the original place...and not quite as clean...but the water is wonderful and we can do a quick cleanup when we get there. We are going back this Saturday to see how many folks show up there on the weekends. Hopefully, there won't be anyone there and we can go ahead with our plans.
This drive sure reminded us how beautiful it is around here. We used to go for drives when we first moved here, over two years ago. Toby comments every time we do that there just isn't a bad view! We just never tire of the scenery...and the changing seasons give it even more interest...the winter time with the leaves off the trees, gives you a view of places that are hidden, the spring time with its lush green growth, the summer with the hay fields, the fall with the beautiful leaf changes, and the deer roaming freely around. I am so happy to live here. The thought of living still in hot, humid Florida makes me shiver. I am so incredibly thankful that we moved. We miss the family and friends there...but sure don't miss the place.
Mom and Dad left today for Alabama. Road fever hit! Dad is doing quite well since his pacemaker surgery. Not much gets my Dad down and this sure didn't either! They will be back in a week...Dad has another checkup. After that, they are headed to New York to visit our family there. They do so love being on the road. I am happy that they are able to follow their dream.
I have plans to re-arrange the living room. Not sure how it will work out. I'd like to move the couch...but then remembered that when the remodel was happening, they had to cut out the outlet behind the couch due to the lighting in the new stairway. Perhaps while Ken and Martha are here in October finishing that stairway, he'll be able to run a new outlet there. I am just tired of the way it looks now. I want an inviting look in our home...and the living room isn't all that inviting as it is now. I'd love to spend money on new furniture. Something really comfortable that just calls out to you to sit there.
Thomas is out milking now..Rebecca just went out to see if she could help him. She has done her chores already. It's nearly bedtime...the clock shows 7:15. Yep, we go to bed about 8 around here. We are looking forward to fall and winter...it will be dark about 4:30 then and make bedtime much easier. (I am also so looking forward to cooler weather! I have had enough of these upper 90's and 100's days!). My Honey rises at 3:30 to get ready for work, so our days begin pretty early. I am letting the children sleep in now...their summer break from school is right now. Once we begin school again, it will be back to earlier rising.
Guess that's my update for today...it had been awhile...sorry!
