A calf's birth....in pictures... :)

Yesterday, the girls and I had the pleasure of seeing new life being born. We came home from town to see that one of our cows was in the beginning stages of birth. We finished up our inside activities quickly.

I went out first to find this....

If you look carefully, you can see the front feet on their way out...

In the course of 30 minutes, this is what transpired....

Mama got tired, so she laid down....

Note that young heifer behind Mama....she stayed there the entire time, and never once turned around!

Baby's all out...just gotta do the cleanup....

Yet another time I'm thankful to be a woman, not a cow.... ewww.....

All alert....and ready to get up....

Up and walking....within 15 minutes of being born!

Laurie, that is just INCREDIBLE! Great job on the pictures!! Even after witnessing our goats give birth time and time again, I am always blown away by the experience. Birth is truly an amazing thing! Thanks for sharing this.
