Awesome sound!!!

Soooo...what awesome sound am I listening to right now???
My Honey mowing the front pasture with our tractor and new (to us) bush hog!!!

We have needed our own to do this for the two years since we moved here! And now it's finally a reality! We found a bush hog on our local swap and shop for $300...which is considerably less than the $2000 for a new one! We had the cash to buy it, which is an incredible blessing in itself! No credit card!! No borrowing! Paid for!!!!

Toby got half of the front pasture mowed tonight...till he ran out of fuel. Thomas, Mary and I ran to the store to get more. Wow...5 gallons of diesel cost almost $15! That's ridiculous! I also noticed the Burb has 1/8 of a tank of fuel...ugh, so dread filling that one up! I was going to get some fuel tonight...but only had $15 cash. They had a sign on the pump that for gas purchases, they only take cash or local check. Well, I didn't have the checkbook with me...and planned to use my debit card. How strange is that? I would think they would rather a debit or credit card over a check....who knows...this is not the most friendly of small town gas stations....the other one was already closed...they close at 7 pm.

I called my Mom to let her hear the sound! She was as happy as I was to hear it! They are getting ready to come back home for a visit and we can't wait to see them again!

The weather has cooled off again. YEAH!!! It's 54* now. Love that much more!!!! It was rainy today. I actually like rainy days...though they do tend to make me sleepy. I just want to curl up with a good book...or magazine(!) and read..and be quiet listening to the rain. Doesn't happen alot around here...but, the dream is still there!
We have about a week to go before the big remodel upstairs starts! To say we are excited is a huge understatement!!!! The children will finally have their own rooms...and this house will have enough space for all of us. It has been cramped...but not impossible. It will just be nice for us to be able to spread out a bit more..and for the children to have rooms of their own.

We are so incredibly, awesomely blessed...let me never forget that....

Have a great evening..it's time for this tired Mama to head to bed.

Hello friend. I always love reading your blog and about your Homestead. I'm so glad you all got a used bush hog for a good price. That's how we got ours...so nice to have one and to have not paid so much money for it.

It's so fun to get a piece of equipment you really need, isn't it! I'm glad you were able to get so much done- your excitement leaps off the page :)

I have a big conversion van that costs a fortune to fill so I feel your pain!!!!
