Just saw an e-mail from Above Rubies....a member of the group suffered a huge loss...
They were ready to move from Florida to Ohio...and were showing their home to the renters when their 1-1/2 year old son, Ezekiel, drowned in their pool.
Oh, can you imagine the grief? The shock? Being ready for a new chapter in your life and having such a tragedy occur?
I tell ya....these types of tragedies just seem to be happening more and more. If this isn't enough to make folks get on their knees and accept Christ, I don't know what will....
Anonymous,
These tragedies do not happen because pools and young children don't mix. They happen because there are accidents. My family loved swimming in my folks' and MIL's pool when we lived in FL.
Accidents do happen. But that doesn't mean we get rid of anything that might cause an accident. How many car accidents happen each and every day? Are you going to stop driving a car?
I just asked for prayer...and if you cared enough to sign your name, I could respond to you directly.

So sad, I'll keep them in my prayers. And good for you telling that anonymous coward.

This happens because the people who have these SMALL children are not properly watching them, and should have at the very least a GATE around their pools. Also, maybe if people had just enough children to be manageable, and not a whole boatload of kids, they would not be so neglectful of their duties. What the heck was a toddler doing outside unsupervised. And, no, this does not make me want to get on my knees and pray, it makes me sick to think that God's providence is conjured up in instances of parental neglect...kindof like when LOSER parents "forget" that their kids are in the car and they die in the sweltering heat.
Wow....

SLS2000...too bad you don't actually blog...cause I know nothing about you...except you seem to be filled with alot of anger!
You said so much in your comment..most of it rude and uncaring...but alot there. First, accidents are just that...accidents. That's why they don't call them an on purpose. I have no clue if you even have children...but they can be quick. This family is grieving the loss of their little one and all you can do is point fingers. You don't even know the circumstances...nor do I. I simply posted a prayer request.
My point about being on my knees....this shows how fleeting life is...we should all be prepared before our time comes....
A gate around a pool...maybe a fence?! Who knows...maybe they had one. Maybe they didn't. I don't know.
I agree....I can't imagine "forgetting" my child in a vehicle....but what on earth does that have to do with this post?!
And...your comment about family size...that's just plain rude and uncalled for. There are parents of 1 child who do a lousy job...and I'm sure there are parents of larger families who do a lousy job. The common denominator there is the parents...not the family size. What you wrote was terrible rude! I'd HAPPILY have a "boatload" of children!!!
Perhaps you could start actually blogging and we could learn a little about your parenting...you obviously know how to do it perfectly.

The parents should face charges. They did not keep that baby safe. Selling the house was more imoportant.
Hmmm...

ah, yes, the anonymous commentor from NJ....you always have such incredibly rude words to leave. But you think so little of your words that you cannot leave a name.
I hope you never experience a tragedy in your life...you obviously have little respect for others.
By the way, in case you missed it, they were renting the home, not selling it. You have no clue what was happening in that home at the time. I don't even know this family, yet I can show compassion for them and pray. Perhaps you should try the idea of thinking of others....oooh! And here's another one, if you don't have something nice to say, say nothing at all!
Here's a thought....visit someone else's blog and don't visit here..you always leave the same types of rude comments, so you must not like what you read. Why waste your time? And a better question, why waste mine?!
