Good afternoon!
I am online searching for a yummy sounding recipe...I have one pound of ground beef to use and not sure what to make with it. It is so warm that I don't really feel like cooking. This is a problem for me as it gets warmer...I want to cook even less. Big salads are my favorites during the hot times of the year. Fresh veggies and no cooking sound great to me! Please share your favorite warm weather recipes with me!!! ![]() I have been thinking about my blogs...I am having trouble keeping up with both. So, I think I will be closing my homeschool blog and only blogging here. Not to mention I can't seem to get into my homeschool blog account! I would like to copy the template here from that one that Crystal did so generously for me. Once I get all of that done, I will be down to one blog.
We moved the 4-H chickens into the field pen this morning. That was alot of fun! Thomas is the bird man. But, Natalie and Mary were right there with him moving those birds! I took some photos but you'll have to wait till I get the film developed to see them...nope still no digital camera!
![]() Tonight after supper, we will all be joining Daddy outside to work on the new fence he and Thomas started last night. They got all of the posts put up and the first strand of barbed wire up. We will be helping to get the other 4 strands of wire up. We hope to get it done so we can move the beef cows into that area tonight. They are going to be staging a revolt soon if we don't get them some fresh grass to eat! Gentle has been out on fresh grass now since Thursday. Her milk production has increased each day since! She has only given me
1-1/2 gallons a day since we got her. She is now up to 2 gallons and 1 quart! Need to ramp up the butter and cheese production! I need to place an order for some cheesemaking supplies.
The goats are getting closer to kidding with each passing day. Goatie has quite a little bag starting to develop. Baby is not far behind! My plan is to milk them as well. We have never tried goat's milk, but are willing to try it. I would like to use their milk mostly for cheese and soap. I haven't ever made soap before either...if you can recommend a good beginner's book (that isn't just a cut up an already formed bar of soap and melt it...those were all I could find at the library), please pass along the title to me!
Rebecca fed Gracie last night and this morning. She is getting rather attached to the sweet babe! She went back into her area and brushed her later. Gracie really is a great calf!
I have not found a recipe yet...of course, I am blogging and not searching, so no wonder! But, I really need to get something started. My Honey is going to have a crown put on a tooth after work, but I expect him home in an hour or so....
Have a great evening!
