Update on Uncle Wayne

Mom called earlier. She and Dad had been down to visit Uncle Wayne for the 6pm visiting hours.

They are limiting visitors so he doesn't try to figure out voices or noises. They want his brain to rest and repair, not work. They turned up the ventilator some so that he isn't even working to breathe. Just rest....

The nurse feels that he will come out of this coma...both from a medical standpoint and personal experience. That sure is encouraging!!!

A comment posted last night has really helped my uncle's friend who was with him. She wrote that he probably saved his life by turning him on his side. What a thing to know!! The blog world can be a rough place...but in times like these, it can also be a source of such encouragement and love. I so appreciate all of you who read my ramblings..whether you comment or not (course, I'd love more comments!! )

I'm off to bed. Sleep was not real great last night...I'm hoping for a good night's sleep tonight.

Please continue petitioning the Father on Uncle Wayne's behalf.

Hi Laurie,
I'm so pleased that what I wrote has encouraged your uncle's friend. It's amazing how such a simple thing like turning someone on their side can have so great an impact on someone's chance of survival. We have learned a lot since our friend Jonathan's accident - most of all how God's mercy is everlasting. He lost his entire face (except his nose which was incredibly the only bone not broken), and yet today he looks just like the old Jonathan, except for the missing teeth!
I will keep praying for your uncle, and for his family too - such a difficult, stressful time for them.
And thanks for the link hint - I would never have figured that out on my own!
