Abundant Blessings Farm

A busy Sunday...

Today, Daniel came to pick up Charles. A little while after his visit, we left for town. I told the children our destination was a surprise. We first visited the library. That's always a hit with my children!! They love to get new books!!! Not to mention, it's summer reading time...so that means tickets to the reading carnival next month. We left there and when I pulled up to the next stop, Rebecca and Thomas were quite happy! We were at our town's little theatre. They were going to see the new Indiana Jones movie with Daddy!!! Natalie, Mary and I left them all there...and stopped at Walgreen's. Didn't buy a thing there.....then headed to their surprise...a stop at McDonald's. We had a treat, then they played. When they were finished, we headed over to CVS. I love that store!!! I should blog about the bargains I find there... :)

After CVS, it was time for our big monthly shopping trip at Wal Mart. We filled two carts with stuff...and headed out to load it in the Burb. Rushed back to the theatre......cause we were late! Got there to find Honey and the children standing in the parking lot talking with friends of ours. Guess they didn't mind us being late too much.

Then it was time to stop at Piggly Wiggly...needed some things I didn't find at Wal Mart. Off to home we then went....for the great unloading event. What a job that was...unloading it all, de-bagging it all, stocking the frig and pantry with it all. Glad that job's over for another month!

Ernie...the kitten killer...struck tonight. He and Penny both seem to derive much pleasure from grabbing the kittens and holding on for dear life...their dear life.....cause they sure don't care if they suck the dear life outta the kittens. Poor little kitten...it was so cute and tiny....Ernie spent some quiet time alone...to think about his actions...

So, tonight, we watched last week's Next Food Network Star show that I taped...while enjoying Rebecca's yummy root beer floats. Ahhh...what a yummy treat!!!

Tomorrow begins a new week....one that hopefully will put us that much closer to finishing our school year. We have no plans to leave home...with the cost of gas, we are spending most of our time here at home. Driving the Burb is not cheap....and neither is Honey's truck. Except his truck takes him to work....so he must drive each day. We must not...so we don't. Actually, there is plenty to do around here...we really don't need to go anywhere. But, I am finding that because we combine all of our trips, we are gone most of the day when we do leave...and are wiped out when we return. Hmmmm.....gotta be a happy medium in there somewhere.

Oh! Good news!! Honey put in for his remaining week's vacation for next week. Will find out tomorrow if it was approved. It's not the optimal time to take it...not sure why we didn't plan for it sooner. But, his anniversary date is coming up in August...he needs to take it or lose it. We're sure gonna take it!! If he gets the entire week off, he'll have 9 straight days off with the two weekends added in. I already know it will be very difficult to give him back after having him all to ourselves for that long. I'd sure love to do something special during his vacation...just not sure what we can do....finances don't really permit a vacation...nor does having 5- 5 week old pups....

We shall see....
