Saving money is the name of the game on this farm. My daughter gives her hubby and boys haircuts. The girls just grow their hair long.

The schoolroom doubles as a Barbershop.

My daughter also under took making her own laundry detergent with fels naphtha soap.

First you grate the soap.

Put it in a large pot.

Add washing soda and borax to melted soap and water and always watch and stir.

.

It is poured into a large bucket and more water is added. Let it sit overnight and it should gel up. And it did!

It is always nice to have little helpers too.
