Farmer's Market Day,Goats and Chickens

I found a local farmer's market. YIPPEEEEE!  Urbana has a great one only about 35 minutes away. I bought local honey, pasture chicken eggs, beets, cucumbers, tomatoes (heirloom and one was a green type and so good) salad greens, goat soap, gala apples, and  13 ears of corn. I also was able to meet a young lady who raises alpine goats so at least I know of one goateer (one who raises goats?) around here although technically she is about an hour away. I tasted a lamb bratwurst piece which was great. Also found some places to possibly get some grassfed ground beef and other things. There is supposed to be a food coop in Urbana too so I am going to try that out sometime.

Look what we found in the barn. Yup you got it I think - a goat milking stand.  And also these.

They would have to be cleaned up and de-spiderized, ewwwwwwwww. But if we need them they are there to be used.

Be sure to check out my homeschool blog too. HERE

Blessings.
