Dear Reader

Today we will pack more. Mostly from the outside. We need to move over feeders, waterers, and the duck pools. The new house is full of boxes and we really need to unpack more.

I am still looking for imformation on peacocks. It will not be until spring if I get them, so I have a lot of time to recieve information. I love the way peacocks look. I know that they can be agressive. I do not mind this. I am used to agressive birds (since I own Muccovy ducks and I have had pheasents before).

If anyone is intereseted in learning how to pin butterflies, please let me know. I do not want to go to all the trouble of drawing or looking up the graphs if no one is interested. If you think that it is a gross thing to "Murder" a butterfly, it is not as awful as you think. Just remember, Most butterflies are male; if it is a female she probably has already laid her eggs; and most of those eggs turn into plant-eating-monsters. And the why I kill them it is not painful. There are three ways to kill a butterfly or any insect really; you can freeze them (that is what I do, it puts them to sleep. They must be left in for 24 hours or they will wake up), you can put preasure to their boby (this is on you use for a quick death) and last there is heat (I do not recommend this as it is cruel and painful).

Well I need to go. In the Helen Keller "Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it."

Sincerely,

~Mary-Ann~

Friday, January 18, 2008 - we had peacocks...

Posted by mulberrylane

We got rid of them this this past spring... we had them many years. I would be happy to share as we found information lacking on peacocks...We liked our peacocks, but they truly aggravated my husband (they pooped on his tractor and his truck... not my van, not the car... but HIS stuff!) They were free spirits and did not take kindly to penning up, which we tried for sometime to help ease aggravations for DH. There's more we can share. Good luck on finding some information!

Warmly, ~Melissa

Dear Melissa,

I would greatly appreciate information on Peacocks. I really would love to learn a lot about them. We would need to keep them penned since we have lots of woods and I would hate to lose one some where on our seven acres. We also have neighbors that would not like it if they were loose. And my Father has already been driven crazy by my ducks and chickens.

Sincerely,

~Mary-Ann~

Belle would be a good one to talk to, since she has a peacock. Our peacock is not aggressive, not at all and he never has been.In fact he is very shy.
He is a beautiful creature.
