| Okay this brings back somber memories. As I opened the box to take my machine out I found a stack of sample receiving blankets that Sandy Day had given me through Caleb Ministries. It's a ministry that reaches out to those who have lost their children through stillbith, miscarriage, SIDS or infertility. When God brought me closure to my grieiving over Victory Emmanuel (our last child that was born still. I have the diary available online of the process I went through. It's abbreviated, but you get the point. If you would like to read it e-mail me privately), I had such a burden to help this ministry out. Aside from monetary contributions, they were asking for articles to be sewn taht can be put in a memory box and given to a woman experiencing loss. That was coming up on two years ago. I made every excuse (or listened to every excuse. it's God that has already laid out good works for me to do and Satan who tries to get me to not do them) to put it off....
This summer as I was visiting my mother (who brought me my Simplicity Creative Spirit Plus Model SA2200 from the Americana series), I again found the fabric that someone in my church had brought me so I could make these receiving blankets (she had heard of my sewing endeavors and financial hardships as well). With Mommy's help, I measured and cut, folded and sewed it all together. It's nothing fancy but it's the only one I've made for them. It was so easy and took so little time. I again procrastinated and still have the blanket instead of the ministry. All I have to do is send it. I have many excuses in my head but this conversation (and me finding the blanket. I keep it in the sewing machine box) has sparked me to action. I struggle with perseverence, but I will just claim victory and plod on in Jesus' name!!!! Who's with me? |
