Meandering thoughts

Today has been a rather lazy day.   DD had a friend over, that left this morning... this girl is like a daughter in alot of ways...I always tell them they are my twins...they are so much alike in personality, but quite the opposites in looks... one is tall and fair and the other short and dark,  Im glad my daughter found this friend...

I was concerned about Miss Molly today, she seems to still be having quite alot of diarrhea (sp) and seems to have no control over it... her eyes still have a yellow look.  I called the vet and was told that it will take a while for her to bounce back.   I tried greasing the pills, they went down somewhat easier...

I tried grinding my dried hominy today but the grinder I have is not strong enough to grind it  I guess I should have just salted it and ate the hominy it was actually pretty good.

My daughter has an awful time with food textures.. especially "wet foods"  so we are drying some fruits (apples, bannana's, and pineapple) to see if she can tolerate that...

DH got off early tonight, he is picking up a book on grains and breads at the library for me... he is also cooking dinner tonight.. we will have BBQ'd ribs and baked potatoes.. we are going to have the house to ourselves tonight for awhile as DD is at work... will be kinda nice..  Im not sure about the ribs.. looking outside its getting rather gray looking... we will see...

My new bread pans should be in tomorrow.. I'm very excited... I also ordered a book the other day called "country beans"  Im hoping to get some ideas  on using ground beans in different recipes... this will help my daughter get more  protein and fiber into her diet...I ordered it off half .com and its the older edition.. it was a good price.. what can I say, Im a sucker for a good deal;>

I really need to get my seed potatoes soon as well as order any of the seeds Im planning on ordering...perhaps I will get the gun strap finished tonight and can use the money from that to buy the seed...

I think Jesse has decided its her dinner time.. she is using her not so inside voice.. and wagging her tail and squinting her eyes at me.  She is a smart dog,  if she barks to loud she is told to use her inside voice and then she wispers  lol

if she doesnt want to go outside she squintes her eyes at us...

if she needs a potty break she sits at the door, if we dont respond she stands up and very noisily drops her hiney against the door, making noise,  if we still dont respond she gently talks, if we still dont respond  she barks..

when she is hungry usually at 8 am and 4 pm she gets real wiggly and talkative, and if you ask her if its dinner time she goes nuts and runs to the food bag.

I had a small wind chime outiside my back door, when she wanted in, she would stand up on her hind legs and ring the chimes.

for a lab she is very protective, when I was single she was my guardian.

she loves to play ball, she will run for hours and chase them.. if she lays a ball at your feet, and you dont want to reach for it you can tell her you cant reach it and she will pick it up and put it in your hand...

Her bed is under the sink in the bathroom,  if you say go to bed she will go there. If you say the word bed, she can be in a dead sleep and will get up and traips to bed  lol... if she needs out or wants out of the bathroom   she bangs the  cabinent door againt the door.. hmm after reading this I think we are perhaps the ones that are trained  lol...

You do have to keep her away from refridgerators and freezers.. she can open them,  she does and will help herself to any shelf she can reach... and when she is bored she will chew holes in the hoses.. I have on  more then one occasion turned the water on to water goats, only to see  the water shooting high into the air  in several places.  The first year I had her I think I bought stock in the company that makes those hose repair clamps... the second year I took them all off a very well patched hose and saved them... I did this for two years..  now all hoses are kept well away from her when she is tied up  lol...but she hasnt chewed any hoses for quite awhile now.

well time to go feed the girls... have a wonderful evening..

I was wondering, have you seen the hillbillyhousewife.com site? She has some wonderful bean recipes. Recently, I made her Lentil Chili, and it was WONDERFUL. I couldn't beleive how well it went over, I've got a very "meat" oriented family, but I've been trying to fit protiens in from other areas of our diet as well...
