Cancer

There is something about that word, that takes the wind out of your sails, when the nurse on the other end of the line uses it..... well about 3 weeks ago I had such a call... It is my hope that this post will move those of you that have "put off" getting a pap smear or other exam into get one.... I had put off getting one for about 4 years now... what the nurse told me is that the pap came back with moderate to severe dysplasia and that they could not rule out that that is no cancer present....the blood test they did with the pap came back not showing cancer ,so there is some hope, althought before they took the test the Doctor made a point of saying that they arent always accurate....so needless to say this has been a very down emotional few weeks...there are times I feel that everything will be find but then there are times I feel I have been handed a death sentence.... I am on my way to see the anesthesiologist today...I am going in wens, for a D&C and leep procedure to see just what is where.   I dont like the idea of being put to sleep.. in fact that is what bothers me the most about the procedures being done.. 

It seems like this has put our whole lives on hold...I cant seem to make plans... getting thru the day at times seems like it will be impossible...

Last weekend DH and I went to the coast instead of the usual Rendezvous we attend this time of year... it was a very nice weekend... we spent alot of time on the beach flying kites or walking around...it was fun to watch the families on the beach making sand castles or playing in some other way...I hated to come back to reality...

I am still working at the school cleaning but that will be done soon and I cant say I am sorry  but have been very thankful to have the job this summer....  I will post again after I get some answers... If your due to get a pap get in and get it...

May the Lord hold you know, and take your confusion and anxiety. May He guide the hands of your anesthesiologist, your nurse, and your doctor.

I hope that you don't mind that I have commented on your blog, but I have had a "bad" pap as well, but have been lucky to find that it is OK for now. Thank you very much for encouraging us all to go in for our annual pap and breast exams.

Doctors have been wrong before, lets hope this is the case here.
