Saturday's meanderings

The first thing I did was to make cupcakes... Today my daughter turned 23, man I just dont know where the time went...we are meeting her, and the rest of my family, after she gets off work tonight..

Although the sun is shining its not very warm, but the sun drew me out today, and after reading Jill's gardening thoughts I  mosied out to the garden plot and pulled a few weeds... thinking about what I want to plan and where,  the raised bed will be ready to plant the quickest... it will be awhile before we can do any tilling... dad says it has to not clump on the tiller blades before its time to till, and after the rain we have had this year it will be awhile yet...

I think I may plant a few cold weather things here in March or so...maybe some pea's, broccoli and some kohlrabi.  I have been reading about something called square foot gardening, I think I might see if I can get a copy from the library to read.

After I posted that I went out to my garden too. Then I got out my Sunset book and looked up cold weather veggies and decided if nothing else I am going to do broccoli and carrots. I don't want to do anything I might not use just for the sake of having a garden, you know? Anyway just wanted to say I was right there with you today! And if your daughter went to Crater I just might know her or at least know the name. I graduated in 98 and my sister in law graduated in 03 so if you feel like it, message me her name, would be funny if I knew her! Have a good celebration!
