Hectic Heaven

What an experience

I think I must just be an electrical  kinda gal... I tried out my new handcarders last night... and wow.. I had  wool everywhere....I maybe put to much on them, maybe I combed  them to hard.. because what wasnt floating in the air was stuck to me with static elecricity.. but I did get a few good rolags after all was said and done   lol...

I have never spun alpaca before.. but I love how soft it is... I have heard that it is best to mix it with some other kind of wool because it tends to get droopy when used alone...

I am so new to spinning that I just kind of want to try spinning everything....just to see what its like... so far my absolute favorite has been what they call a mystery batt obtained from the local  yarn/weave/spin/quilt shop.... and its my undertanding it just has a bit of everthing in it.. its gray in color with some red and  teal blue running thru it...Its  soft and easy to draft... I also tend to like to spin very small yarn... once it is plyed its not to small though...

mohair

merino

romney probably my least favorite..

merino/tencel mix

and a few I have no idea what they were...

my basket is filling up with hanks of  yarn... I even still have my very first ball, I was looking at it the other night and thinking  "I ought to respin that "  lol, now to figure out what to use it on.

I did finally get a spot I could set my wheel up out of the way...

I have finished my grocery list  for what I need for the holiday, and need to take DH's meds into him today, so I might go do that last bit and be done until after Christmas... we are having freezing fog right now and I would prefer to just stay home.. Im not much into driving in adverse weather conditions... maybe it will warm up soon... Well actually I am not much into going to town from just before Thanksgiving  until after the New year sometime.. and If I were very organized (which I am NOT) one of these years  maybe I will not need to  set foot in town during that time.. well a girl can dream cant she?..

I think I might add another candy called Cookie dough truffles  that is posted on  the Glory farm blog    sure sounds yummy.

Have you ever wondered about the spelling of  "sugar"  it sounds like it should be "shugar"  ok... enough rambling... have a wonderful day...
