Jr and the water trough

I went out to feed a night or so ago, it was just a bit later then my usual feeding time and as anyone knows, that has goats, they know exactly when feeding time is supposed to be, and if your late they let you know all about it....

As I walked out to the field with my arms full of alfalfa I saw the herd moving down the fence line... in their way was the water trough....As I neared I heard a great deal of splashing and the sounds of someone that was not very happy.... Poor ole Jr, the smallest one of the group had somehow jumped and ended right in the drink....and while he is tall enough to keep his head above water he was having a problem jumping back out... so I helped  him out and headed for the house for towels...as it was shaping up to be a rather chilly night....after a brisk rub down and a belly full of food he seemed not the worse for wear....

What I think may have happened is that he is used to jumping up on a trough I have upside down and playing king of the hill..  He knows this trough has water in it as he drinks out of it daily, but I wonder if it was just that time of night he saw the water level and took that to be the bottom of the trough....either way he was one wet pet...I have to chuckle each time I see him.. he is such a corker at times.....

DH and DS went and got a tree yesterday so now to decide where to put it and clear the spot for it to go... I usually have a fake tree I put up but this is DS first Christmas with us in quite soe time and he seemed set on a live tree...

Its been a nice quiet weekend around here...but time to get busy again...have soap to wrap, have a bazaar next weekend... and sample baskets to get out,....and of course I want to spin... speaking of spinning... tuesday is the big day....
