Well I am awake at my usuall time but the clock says its an hour earlier , I do wish they would stop doing the time changes......anyway I thought it would be a good time to update my blog...I dont have an assignment for the day, so I will wait until about 8:00 or 8:30 to make any serious plans... well actually its already made if no one calls.... I have to go buy a bag of lye and break it down...I went to my usual haunt to get my lye for soap making and they didnt have it... I have about 60 lbs of oil measured out in various buckets on the kitchen floor just waiting.  The bags come in at 50 lbs which is quite alot of lye but I wont have to go looking for it for awhile... I have a case of canning jars I use just for this and have been saving the containers I had previously bought lye in.. so I think I will have enough to get it all in a container...and its still dry here so it will be a good day to break a bag down.  I will do it at my dads shop where I can open the doors WIDE.

Friday was a sad day here.. we had to have DD's kitty put to sleep.... kidney failure:

Plus, I worked at a new school, Jr HIGH and while it was not quite as bad as my imagination hand led me to think it might be, it was new and therefore a bit stressful, so all in all friday night I didnt do much. Oh and did I mention it was my DSS 19th birthday as well.

Saturday  I plied  a bit of the single yarn I had around, measured out the oil to make soap, and did some of the normal living things that have to get done.... Sunday, I went over to moms and gave her a haircut, then headed for Jacksonville with my daughter to the local weaving/spinning/knitting shop and got me some more wool...It is spinning up beautifully kind of has a worsted look.  I bought some mohair on ebay and it should be here in the next day or so....

I tried my hand at spinning linen, I need a faster wheel for it I think, and man does that stuff smell bad.... must be the rotting process done to rid it of its vegtable matter.  My hope had been to spin the linen, then weave it into the appropriate fabric and make a piece of some type of costume,  I still may do that but it will have to be at a later date when I get my own wheel.... I have decided to get an Ashford travelor,  It seems to be a workhorse type machine and I can add parts to make it a faster machine... I dont think DH will tolerate more then one spinning wheel, so I need to get one that will do most anything I might want to do...If anyone has any other suggestions I would love to hear them...I am also not above a used wheel if you know of one around somewhere... I also found a new pattern for a gun strap I am planning to weave, so I guess I should oughta get busy.... Have a wonderful day all
