Hectic Heaven

Introduction

I just found the homesteading blogs, and decided this might be a good place for me.  

I  have a 5  acre hobbie farm located in  the beautiful Rogue Valley in southern Oregon. The current residents, beside myself, my DH and my DD 22  are, 5 goats, (nubians), 8 hens and a rooster (buff orphingtons), 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 5 canaries.

I have done alot of things in my life, and I have come to realize that my main hobbie is learning, once I feel I have achieved a certain level, I am ready to move on and learn something else, (there fore I seem to be a jack of all trades but a master at none), most recently I have begun to learn how to weave, I just finished taking a beginning class along with my DD, I  enjoy quilting, cooking, dutch oven cooking, ...

I make and sell homemade goats milk soap, I have been doing this business for about 3 years now.  I started out making soap to see how my grandma used to do it, and it developed from there. 

My DH and I are very active in our local muzzleloading club, and go to 4 or 5 rendezvous during the summer, this is how I got started with dutch oven cooking and also weaving,  I started out with the inkle loom, in which I mostly make straps and sashes,  and now have moved into other areas of  weaving.

I am in the process of trying to decide what I want to do when "I grow up."  I have one week left at the job I have had for the last 3+ years, I will be doing some subbing at the local school district and am quite excited about this change... I am also looking to expand my soapmaking business.  Well that is just a bit about me.  Thanks..

I was checking to see if I had any messages when I saw at the side that you made a new post and thought I would drop in, didn't know it was your first post, so WELCOME !!!! I'm pretty new myself only about a month I think ??
