Flaming chickens

I had a chicken thawed out in the fridge and thought I would make one of those chickens that you set the whole bird on a can of beer and basically roast it on the grill... I noticed quite alot of smoke and went out and opened the lid... the flames were engulfing my poor beer drinking bird. I tried blowing and that didnt work... I found a cup and went to the water hydrant outside to fill it... these silly hydrants have a ball in the top back of them that somehow is supposed to keep them from freezing.. anyway... it has a hole in it... so Im leaning over the hydrant waiting for the water to come out the end of the hose.... I got hit full in the face and nary a drop in the cup... so I held my hand over the guizer and got some in my cup and threw it on the fire... which thankfully went out... the skin is a bit crispy but hopefully the rest of it is ok...I knew there was a reason I always let DH man the grill.... I am also making Parmesan potato wedges from Coastal reflections blog, and I picked some fresh lettuce from the garden for a salad...

It's awful, but sounds like you saved the chicken... yes let him do it from now on I guess.

Taters sound yummy. Lettuce in my garden is all burned up. Too hot. Jealous.... :)
