why people feel the need to abuse kids?... what do they get out of it?....why would anyone want to make a child fear them.. wouldnt they rather see a child happy to see them then to shrink from them in fear....I just dont understand some people... I guess I really dont want to understand them... they must be sick, because I can't imagine anyone in their right mind that would do such things.... There are some days I would really like to retire from the human race... Now I know not all people are abusive...but it seems to me that there are quite few of them.. we shouldnt need a place like child services... yet the folks that work there.. are so overworked that they cant even check out all calls that come in... I just dont understand...... WHY?

I do believe some child abuse is the result of the adult feeling helpless themselves and reacting in a way as to feel in control. Perhaps abused themselves. It is a sick and very sad cycle, one that takes an especially strong person to break.
