The friday feast got me to think about what I collect....I dont really have a collection of anything.. I do have some parts of other peoples collections, that are very dear to me...One thing I have done over time (actually my mom started this) is have something in my kitchen that belongs to someone that is not longer with me in body.... I have a bread pan that belongs to my paternal Grandma and a recipe book she got in home ec in high school... I have a huge bread bowl and a set of mixing bowls that belong to my Maternal Grandma... I have a cook book of my great grandmothers... I doubt she ever used it.. she was on of those that used a cup of this and a cup of that... but it was hers.... I have a few tea cups that belonged to my M grandma...I may start using them...but she collected them... I have a pitcher and basin the belonged to my P grandma thats what she collected... and whats even sweeter is there is a note rolld up on the bottom of it.. a little love note of sorts from my Grandfather to her... I have doilys around the house that were made by one or the other of these awesome women.... I guess my collection is, well I'm not sure what it would be called...but I know that its a collection I will not part with, some parts of this collection I use on a daily basis... some parts I look at, but all of them bring back memories..wonderful memories...I guess its a collection of love...

i'm really sentimental about those sorts of things. and i hope that my stepdaughters and nieces will be sentimental about some of my favorite cookbooks, mixing bowls, etc.
