The rototiller and the corn patch

As I posted last night I have quite a bit to get done before I go to work full time for the summer… this morning I got up early and started tilling the patch we have been working on for the beans, corn and flowers. By the time I finished tilling, I felt like a rag doll that had been tied to the back end of a wild critter, which was doing its best to get shed of me.

I had been going to plant the corn and then use the corn stalks for the beans… but considering I am getting my corn in so late I decided to do separate rows… DH and I put in T-posts for the beans and I ran a string from one side to the other…thus a straight row.

Now the corn on the other hand, DH decided to freehand so to speak… at the end of the 3rd row I looked back and started laughing so hard I could barely stand up… DH looked at me like I had grown a second head, and all I could do was point and laugh…. Those rows were so crooked… even a dogs hind leg is straighter.. It looked like a couple of drunken sailors got a hold of our rake and seed corn. I will take pictures when it starts coming up. Unfortunately, DH did not quite see the humor in this …I hope eventually he will learn to laugh at these trivial messups…and not take them so seriously, they are after all what keeps life fun and exciting.

The garden is planted!!.. Everything that is going in is in, except for a few flowers, my daughter and I will plant on the other side of the corn patch… I will work on getting the irrigation system set up today as well. It’s a beautiful day for working outside… somewhat overcast, not hot but not cold, misting but not wet..

Hope your garden does well this coming season. Won't it be fun to hear how everyone's garden is doing. I can't wait to read all about them.
